Two 4x4 tents for flowering

Hey guys lookin to make room for two grow tents. I've never messed with carbon filters or exhausts and was wondering if I were to put two of these tents together http://www.ebay.com/itm/48x48x78-100-Reflective-Mylar-Hydroponic-Indoor-Grow-Tent-Window-Room-4x4x6-5Ft-/380737413640?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item58a5b7e208

Would I be to set them up so one exhaust cools the hoods and then another leads to the scrubber sort of like in this picture?
Or how should I go about ventilation and a carbon filter?

Look at the rating of your scrubber, it should give you an idea of the sq ft'ge it can handle. You have 32sq ft.

Remember:The more corners and bends you have in the pipe the less efficient the air flow. Otherwise, to me your idea looks fine.

I'll keep it in mind and thanks for the reply, if anyone else wants to chime in feel free to do so...nothing wrong with more feedback.

It looks good, but you will only need one passive intake in each tent.

I would use a 10" fan and stepless controller for your light ventilation, Pulling air thru hoods.
You can even hang the exahust fan outside the tent.

be careful of back pressure, most filters are meant to have air pulled thru them.
pushing air into a clogged filter would raise the fan motor temp to potentially catastrophic problems like Fire.

you could draw all air from one tent
(with 1 passive inet)
into the other tent then hang a filter inside the 2nd tent and
then pull air thru filter and blow out of the 2nd tent.
I would use an 8" inline fan with a controller for exahust.

fan sizes are guesstimates based on two tents as described.
YMMV

Do 6inch hoods and 1 fan for the lights/hoods and id use 1 8 inch cf for both tents or a 6 inch filter/fan combo in each tent

? why 2 fans

i am currently doing this ...........4x4x6 tent is 96 cf.......6 inch fan is 400 cfms ........currently running 2 600w cooltubes in one tent and 3rd one in the 2nd tent

it is simple ....... u have both of your tents hooked and use a Y juction
since u can not controll the way is splits with math all that well use a dampner on the line that has the least amount of bends

your a passive intake (your walls will concave) and the cool air is sucked in and out the cool tube ..............a power intake (your walls will puff up if doing it right)

i ducted taped it to the fan to hold against itself the back is going 4 inchs to a vent out the window

Y juction
Dampner

then u just adjust the dampner to split the flow ...........or at the end with the dampner u add a fan blowing in (just a booster fan)........i currently have a monster plant in my 2nd tent and have a 10in house fan hooked to the front to push air under the the tube to keep the plant from getting to much heat damage

Tell me if I've got this right. Hoods in tent 1 and 2 will have ducting connected to a y splitter, whichever has more bends has the damper on it (is this to match airflows of the intakes?) The last end of the the split will be connected to a 6" fan that is pulling air from both tents and exhausting it?
Would I just insert a carbon filter right before the fan?
Thanks a lot for the help

u can put the carbon filler on the front of the cooltube

so it is sucked tho the carbon filter ........tho the cooltube.......tho the ducting ..to Y juction then tho fan and outside

yes with the dampner.........it will take a little bit i use a bic lighter the flame should go out with in 2 inchs of the venting point in the tent
to help u make sure u got it right temps and air movement
look in my journal entry i made a power intake for my tent out of a carbonbox from post office 12 inch filter and 1 6inch fan ...........i have that on the outside of the tent and the ducting from it is clipped under the little fan that moves and blows in there

if done right u are spliting 400 cfm that is 200 for each tent that is recycled air once every 30 secs ................with a powered intake that is 1 260cfm fan so your tent is sucking out 200 but u are blowing in at 260...........your walls will puff out (maximum use of space) so that extra 60 cfm is also helping move the air out of the tent

currently my temps is 68 intake .........tent one with 2 lights is ejecting it at 82/85........tent two has 1 light and ejecting it at about 78/80

to help u

when u are making the holes for the dampner in the metal .............use a smaller drill bit 1/8 to start it then use the bit to finish the hole to made to the bolts
after that take a screwdriver and put it tho the hole and then roll it along the edges to smooth it out

it does not need to be a perfect seal just one side needs to close off if there ...........if is a little gab on the other no biggie

oh the side with the dampner make sure u put it back far enough so when u use a hoseclamp or zip tie to hold the ducting on it fits (i was little to close to ridge so was a bitch to gett that ziptie to hold it )

Damper always goes in duct with fastest moving air, usually the shortest length run or the least number of bends.
