Twisting leafs?

Does anyone know what causes twisting leafs?
3.5gal DWC in week 3 of veg.

I had leaves corkscrewing right around and rusty spots once, apparantly calcium def or some other micro element def. I grow in coco and have really shitty tap water so I bought an RO system and everything has been fine since, but like I said that was in coco coir which as I have learned does not take kindly to too much TDS in the water. Yours being DWC I dont think hard water matters if you use a HW nutrient.

Do you have hard water? what nutes are you putting in? and PH?

I don't know my PPM. I am using a pretty mild nutrient formula and pH is about 5.8. After doing some more reading it looks like some people have had this issue due to heat. My tent gets to be about 85f during the day and there are two other plants in the tent which arent showing signs of this. I'll be taking the floros and cfl's out in a couple more weeks to start 12/12 and putting my LEDS in. This should really bring the temps down as the LEDs put off almost no heat.

I get that on some clones. They were branches horizontal to gravity now they are going vertical, so some tend to do some crazy bends till they stabilize. If they are clones its probably what it is.

It could possibly be a nutrient deficiency, but is more likely a response to the lighting situation.

If you place a light next to a plant instead of above it, it will torn towards the light.

Mylar will also cause the plants to turn towards it with no ill effects.

But just in case, I would check to make sure the plants are getting adequate nutrition and the root zone is happy.

i donno ever ynow and then i have one fan leaf that just kinda tilts down, while all the others are tuned into the sun, kinda weird but no ill effects that ive had

twisted leaves can be caused by a zinc deficiency but I think you would have more issues if that is the case. Sometimes they just twist. You do however need to get yourself a quality PPM meter as once the plants get bigger, they drink up more and your ppm is going to start fluctuating more. Currently, your giving them too much fertilizer. They look really really green to me (but some plants are just really dark green) but the bigger issue is that you have burnt tips. Turning yellow, then brown and curling under... that's no good.
