Day 27 - 3/27/2020

Plants were ready for water this morning, so they all got a lighter than normal watering at 6.0 pH. Don't want them soaking wet for the next transplant that's coming up very soon.

Moved the lights up pretty much as high as they will go in the tent to 36" above the tops. Might remove the risers they sit on also to promote more upward growth.

The 3 gal fabric pots came in this afternoon so I decided, why wait let's transplant after work!

Switched to a new coco to try, CANNA Coco Professional Plus. This didn't come with perlite mixed in like the old stuff so I added 8 handfuls to the mix. Added 6 tbsp of kelp meal, 10 tbsp of bat guano, 12 cups of worm castings. Also the main fertilizer was Down to Earth All Purpose 4-6-2, added in at 3tbsp/gal. All this was added to an entire 13.2 gallon (50 L) bag of coco. Why doesn't everyone use the metric system...yeah I know they could have just put 13 gallons of coco in the bag and put (49.2 L) on the bag. Sorry I may be delirious from exhaustion.

The tent is definitely CRAMMED right now with six 3 gal pots in it. The plan was to grow them out some more and gift what I don't need to a friend.

Overall thoughts on transplanting out of a fabric pot...not a big fan. Only my second transplant ever so it's not much to judge on lol. It was much easier getting them out of the plastic starter pots. They all got some more water at 5.9 pH for the new coco.

Day 29 - 3/29/2020

Oh boy, plants look great in their upward growth but a few are showing some tip clawing down. :( I'm wondering if it's a nitrogen toxicity. Starting to get disappointed and frustrated.

Also took a soil pH reading of CG1 to see if it was any part of it's issue. Came in normal at 5.9 pH.

Day 30 - 3/30/2020

Last night I ended up finally topping CG2. Looks healthy and we'll see where it goes. This morning I defoliated the worst leaves on WT2, you can see the difference in the WT2 closeup.

Did some work on the tent setup with humidifiers and took some photos of the girls out of the tent.

The smaller humidifier I have was accumulating algae in it more quickly so I pulled that out of the tent and put the larger one inside as a replacement. It actually might be better because it is taller the moisture isn't blowing directly on a plant like the old one was. CG #1 was getting a lot of moisture thrown at it, perhaps would explain why it was the most affected deficiency wise out of all the plants. OG #2 in the back has crisp leaf tips on a couple leaves, might be from the close proximity of the heater to that passive intake that's open on the right side.

So I decided to throw the 2" inch risers back under the pots for now. Should help airflow around the pots and get OG #2 away from the heat.

I forgot how different they look out of the tent, the full spectrum white LED lighting fooled me, lol. You can definitely see they have plenty of Nitrogen now..

Day 32 - 4/1/2020

Here we are into the start of a new month and the plants seem to be starting to head back on track. It's still disheartening to see the leaves that were already starting to show deficiencies whether major or minor. The ones looking the worst are CG1, and OG2, those were the ones directly in the path of either the humidifier or the heater. Next grow I think I'm going back to keeping it at like 3 plants. While the space looks huge as seedlings I found I quickly run out of it! I'm also going to have a hard time deciding what to keep and donate now lol.

Tied down the CG1, CG2, and NL1 for some LST. Help give some of that lower growth some light exposure. OG2 is too short still to consider LST for it yet. WT1 and WT2 just seem to be growing out of every possible space. The mutant WT1 has tops all over and WT2 does as well after a real topping.

Even in the closeups you'll notice how the camera pulled in different light for the exposure both from inside and outside the tent. That's why some of the plants look different color greens. Just depended on the shot.

Day 33 - 4/2/2020

Girls were ready for water, I tried to water a little lighter this time but I always seem to do too much. I'm aiming to water less but more frequently.

Day 35 - 4/4/2020

Another day, another set of pictures lol. Plants weren't ready for water yet. Also seems that some of them have had the coco compacted some from the watering, leaving the transplanted root ball higher in level then the outside coco. Before the next watering I will probably add some coco/worm castings mix to level it out.

Tweaked humidity settings a little bit and removed the pots from the risers again. Think it's best to leave them off them at least for now, haha. :???:

Humidity is now in a constant range from about 53% RH - 56% RH.
Temperature range during lights on is 75F-77F.
Lights are 33" away from the closest plant top.

Day 36 - 4/5/2020

Lots of work done today. I wanted to level out the pots that were low on coco. So I mixed up new coco, perlite, and worm castings just to top them all off. 3:1 coco/worm casting mix with a few handfuls of perlite added in.

Pots were all ready for water, but decided to give them a little black strap molasses with the watering. molasses_water_4_5_2020.jpg With the molasses in the water it brought the pH down to 5.6. molasses_water_4_5_2020 (2).jpg I added 4 drops of pH up to bring up the pH to 5.8. molasses_water_4_5_2020 (3).jpg They all took a good amount of water so I'd be surprised if they were ready for more at any point tomorrow.

I pulled each pot out to water them as that is the easiest way for me at least right now. This also gave me the opportunity to start LST on more of the plants. Here's the group all tied down and ready to party.

group_4_5_2020 (5).jpg

My plants are constantly showing some type of deficiency and I don't want them stressed or stunted. So I'm going to order something like Jacks or MegaCrop to use with each watering. Hopefully after I can just switch after the dry amendments run out. I feel like they just aren't getting everything they need as they are, I see so many pictures of much happier plants at this stage and would like to be included in that group.

I need to get back to work so I stop playing in my garden. :weed:

Took a peak to see how they've progressed from the tie downs this morning. They're all already growing back up towards the light. The SF2000 light is making a world of difference from the old blurple I had on the first grow.

The stalk and stems are robust on the NL1

NL1_4_5_2020 (5).jpg

I did end up ordering some Mega Crop and Bud Explosion. Hoping a steady flow of nutrients during watering will remove the deficiencies that are happening now.

Day 37 - 4/6/2020

Early morning today. Lights turn on at 5am and by 6am I had to take a peak. Current setup leaves the heater on at night now which ended up perfect. With the lights and driver not putting off heat the tent stays at an almost constant 71 F. The heater stays on constantly because it's fighting against the exhaust pulling cooler air in.

WT1 is growing like crazy, tops are popping up everywhere.

Day 38 - 4/7/2020

Opened the tent about 30 minutes ago to refill the humidifier, and man they are looking much better. Definitely could be better but they are starting to get thick.

New Mega Crop nutrients coming possibly tomorrow so I can't wait for that. Still not sure about switching from the organic slow release fertilizer to this water/nutrient mix. Maybe I'll start at half dose and see how they do.

They are ready for water now so I mixed up some 5 ml/gal of Cal Mag and pH'ed to 5.8. Still need to water them but breakfast is calling my name first. Grabbed photos though.

I think I'm going to keep them one more week in veg and then flip them. While they are smaller now they'll stretch when flipped. This will also put me on target for a harvest or at least the start of the dry before early summer vacation.

They got their water, and a lot of it. As I lifted the first pot I realized how light they really were, they must have drank a ton yesterday. If they're happy, I'm happy! Can't wait to check on them tonight. If they continue to thrive with the amount of water I'm using now then I know that I severely fucked up and under-watered my first run. Experience.:wall:

Pots aren't ready for water yet, which is fine. Mega Crop is supposed to be delivered today so maybe tomorrow morning I'll be able to give them their first feeding of it.
