Tungsten Halogen for Complimentary Lighting???

I have two big plant under a 1000 watt HPS, both are 3 weeks into flowering. I want to put 2 500 watt T.H. under neath them to add lighting for the bottom branches. Was wondering if anyone had an opinion on whether or not I should do this. I know they're not the best choice but I just happen to have a set laying around. I also know that it will give off really red light and about 22 lumen per watt. Anything other knowledge would be great.

Halogen Lights are Worthless for plants.

The only thing they add is heat!

Don't use them.
