wouldnt it stand to reason that tums could provide calcium(carbonate) i also looked at the inactive ingriedeint list which is just sucrose corn starch talc mineral oil adipic acid sodium polyphosphate and food color so nothing terribly harmful....

Why don't you just use dolomitic lime or even crushed egg shells or oysters? I wouldn't add all those other ingredients willingly.

I think it would be a very good source of calcium. It should be very easy for them to absorb it too.

okay, I guess if you're looking for soluble it's better than any of the solids I mentioned, but still... cal/mg+?

i made egg salad for dinner so i took some egg shells, peeled theprotein off the back and crushed them in to a powder with mortar and pestle and added a little of that too
