Medium->25% Coarse Vermiculite, 75% Perlite
Container-> 5 Gallon Buckets, multiple holes drilled between 2 & 3 inches.
Lights-> 400W Metal Halide during veg, 400W HPS during flower with 10 23w CFL's for supplemental lighting
Strains: Critical +, Blue Hash, Kushage, Ak48, Nirvana random FEM seed

Popped seeds (along with 3 LSD which didn't pop) on 9/10, moved to Rockwool cubes and humidity dome on 9/12, potted in 16oz cups in hempy's on 9/18, transplanted to 5 gallon buckets on 9/25.

Nutes: started with NSR Greenleaves grow but I switched to GH 3 part yesterday. Had repeated Mag problems with NSR and will not use their products again, though I was able to pull .39grams/watt on my first couple of grows using the stuff.

This is a personal use grow that's legal under Alaska law, though illegal under Federal law. Hopefully, the DEA has better things to do than bust someone for posting their grow journal.

This will be my 4th Hempy grow. The original plan was to grow LSD from Barney's but the 3 beans didn't pop so I popped an assortment that sounded entertaining.

I plan to feed during each watering using 1/2-full strength nutes every 3 day or so.

The 400W may get replaced by a 600 or 1000 if I find a decent deal with good shipping price. Ideally, the 400 would be for a strictly veg tent.

All of the plants were topped on 10/1 and the tops were placed in rockwool using Olivia's cloning gel and placed under a humidity dome. No serious roots through the rockwool as of yet.

SCROG or LST? LST has been the way so far. Maybe it's time to mix it up a bit.

I'll post pics later when I get some extra time.

All help is appreciated!

Subscribed buddy and looking forward to your progress!

As for SCROG or LST... I've always stuck with LST because it works good enough for me, but if you're feeling frisky... go for SCROG and see how she turns out :-)

Love and light!

Thanks, Socata. I'm probably LST'ing again. That seems to produce and I wouldn't have to worry about 5 different strains getting picked @ different times through a screen. Setting up 5 individual screens doesn't seem worthy @ this time. I'll run grab some pics and post up later.

I second that decision, if it works for me I'm sticking with it!

Looking forward to the pictures... I know it's getting lovely around Goodweed this time of year, maybe snap one of 'eska or the pass if you can, I can't wait to be back up there next year.

Love and light brother!

Today was a beaut! I'll try to get some pics. Snow's starting to creep down, close to base of 6 now. Do you think adding a 600W with the 400w would be worth it? That seems to add a few watts and give some flexibility with future design.

I decided to LST tonight. It should be interesting. My method is a bit different than the tutorials. I top first to add more main stems, then shape around the bucket to spread everything out. I used cut up pieces of straw on this grow as the branches were being damaged by using regular string. I hope it works. :)

Here's what the plants look like 16 hours after getting tied down. The canopies are really evened out. All the bent branches are pointing towards the light. The got fed and hit with superthrive last night. Feeding ratio: 30 ml flora grow, 20 ml micro, and 10 ml bloom, 4 drops of superthrive in 4 gallons of water. About 3/4 gallon per bucket. Drained roughly 1/4 gallon per bucket after 3 days with no food or water.Plants look great to me.

Suggestions?

Tops are all rooted and transferred to 16 oz cups. They are looking good. I'm ready to make the best grower a mom for the winter. The critical + is the current leader in growth and health.

nice grow! you are way ahead of me! I thought you said you were running 1 MH and 1 HPS ... you dont run them together? I only see one light on the picture! sub

how come you wish you had my strains? it sounds like you got some fancy one too!!

Thanks for stopping by, EnduroxX. I'm picking up the MH today. Your strains sound pretty tasty. I keep the AK-48 as it produces and the bud is pretty good after a sollid cure.

The others are all experiments.

Cut clones last night, IMGP1109.jpg
scrogged the Critical + and the random Nirvana (using a plant training screen from Home Depot)IMGP1108.jpg, and did some tent mods. I'll be adding a 400 MH later today and switching this light to the HPS.

For cloning, rockwool was placed in a 5.5ph mix of light nutes, B1, superthrive, and rooting hormone for about 6 hours, then lightly shaken. Clones were cut and trimmed, stripping off a bit of the outer skin, and sliced about 1/4" up stem. A glob of Olivia's cloning gel was placed on the hole in rockwool, followed by cuttings.

Clones are placed in humidity dome with a heat pad beneath. I went 100% last year using this method so why not keep going?

This is the first time implementing any type of frame. It's not really a scrog, more of a training aid. In theory, it will work the modified LST that I enjoy. Looking @ LST stuff last night, I realized that I'm using a pretty nasty hybrid of several methods.

Seems to work.

Recommendations, thoughts, jokes?

So, there's a 400 watt MH now as well as the 400 HPS (switched bulbs).

Switching the light cycle in 3 days. Need to figure out the appropriate layout and make sure the temps stay in range prior to the switch.
Any layout suggestions?

The other big changes involve hose routing and electrical routing, ballast placement, and an additional 250 cfm inline fan for climate control. There's a gallon jug with 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon of yeast, and filled with water (poor man's Co2). I throw that in pretty much every grow but was in no hurry to throw it in as the tent has been open most of the time.

Here are some new pics:

I'm cancelling the journal. Reading about punk kids contemplating marijuana grows with 2 strikes and prison time isn't the type of place I want to be.

Good luck folks.

I'm enjoying the legal grow but I don't wanna share any info with the gangster crowd.

Love and light!

It's almost chop time for a few of the ladies. I wanted to jump in and show that Hempy's grow method still produces. This grow will be enough to get me through the winter. Two more grows should have me set until January 2013. I have about a 1/4oz left from my last grow so it's gonna be tight on curing/drying. I cut a couple of colas last week for a quick dry/cure that will get me through this low spot.

The Critical + was a true pleasure to grow. It was nute hungry and refused to be burnt. I'll be growing this again. There's a mama in DWC. Fat colas that look like fists.

Kushage was a PITA through the entire grow. I will not be growing this again unless the bud opens doors to heaven when ignited. Even then, it wouldn't make the trip into permanent rotation.

The random Nirvana produced 12 lovely colas. They maintained about the same height. I wish I knew what strain this was as I'd grow it over and over. I kept a clone that may turn into a mama.

The AK48 cross makes me glad that I kept this strain alive. I have a full sized version in DWC that will rally on. Great colas, no nute burn, quick flowering, pleasant smoke....Win.

The Blue Hash is super leafy with nice, dense buds. This bush doesn't appear to produce big colas as quickly as some of the other plants but it's still in full bloom with at least 3 or 4 more weeks to go. This is the first indica that I've grown that shows no signs of being ready @ 8 weeks. The pistils are still shiny white and reaching for the sky.

I vaped some trim off the random nirvana colas that were dried/curing. Great stone for uncured waste. I'm definately optimistic.

Here's the garden:

Hope you enjoy. The new 600 watter makes me happy. It's on 75% now to finish up.

Cheers!
