I'm also new to growing, but i'll try and help with my limited knowledge. I don't know the specifics of the MG moisture control soil, but i do know that MG soils with time release ferts are usually frowned upon here due to nute burn.

You should be watering your plants maybe twice a week, dont leave the soil always saturated, ive read how drying out the soil to some extent encourages root growth, as well as to water around the egdes of your pots. It may not be true, but it seems logical to me.

Also the plant light you mentioned sounds kind of fishy. Even tho it says plant light, odds are its an incandescent light which doesnt have the correct wavelength, so its more or less adding a heater into your grow area. Make sure your bulbs for vegging are all around 6500K the daylight color CFLs(on a 24/0 or 18/6 schedule), and keep them roughly 2-4inches from your plants. Come flowering you should switch to the 2700K soft white bulbs and then put the plants on a 12/12 schedule. Hope this helps, and goodluck!

PS some insight on your grow might be helpful to others trying to pass down some wisdom. ie how much space you have, pot sizes, how many plants, what kind of nutes you plan to give them around week3
