Trying to build my first grow room. Any suggestions?

Ok so I am building a grow room that is going to be 4'Wx6'Lx7'H. I'm going to make it out of 2x2 which i beilever will be enough and plywood. Whichi all plan on paining with white roofing paint. I already have a 400W HPS, 6in inline fan, filter, soil and a water ph tester, ph up and down, hygrometer, fan for circulation, and some big bloom. Am i going to need and intake of air on the bottom with a fan or can i just make some small ventilation low on the bottom as to not let in any light? I've also been going back and forth on wether is should use soil or go hydro. I think i am going to do my first grow with clones. I just don't know how many plants i can fit in the room. I also hope to be able to split a section off for vegging later on if there will be enogough room? Any suggestions? I plan on putting up some pictures as i get going. Hopefully the next couple of days.

Sounds a little too big for a 400W light. I also wouldn't bother wit the paint. Just get B&W Poly and cover the room with it, incl. floor.
Passive exhaust should be fine. You can use 4 or 6 inch duct, bend it twice and no light will go in or out.

Everything looks well thought out otherwise. Number of plants depends on how long you want to veg, but with only 7' headroom you will be restricted. Any way to make it higher?

yea with the space i have rite now i am limited to 7' can maybe go 2inches higher. For the lighting i eventual want to get a 400WMH and a 90watt tri spectrum led

you want to get another 400w? just get a 100hps/mh. that withy a light mover would work out fine. keep in mind you will need around 1sq' per plant, minimum.

Go hydro. I too would get a 1000w w/ a light mover. I would grow 6 plants and I would expect to yield approx 2lbs every 11-12 weeks. If you find space for a veg room somewhere else, you could drop that cycle to 8-9 weeks. Grow BIG

Would just getting another light work as well??

Well, with only 7' headroom you can't really go BIG. Since you have a 400W already, another 400 W or better 600W will probably do fine. Unless you can bring it back and exchange it at the store for a 600W or 1K.

What would be and ideal hight to build it if i could and are you saying that 1 1000 or 600 is better

"Ideal" is having like 9' headroom. Not nessesary in most cases, but it's better to have extra just incase. The 1000 provides more penetration, more bud and more heat. Considering it's effect on the final product, the light is one area worth splurging on. You'll have to do some extra work to cool it properly, but it's worth it in the long run. Theoretically, you only have to buy the shit and build the room once if you do it right the first time.
