Here is the info where the out of Africa documentary got the info I believe. The last part of the article explains why at this point africa is still the accepted point of the first homo we have found. But its amazing we have found what we have including DNA. The real interesting question is when did language begin.

About 6k years old we believe. I wonder how 100000 years ago or more language sounded like. Before Indo English times. Prehistory I find interesting. The farthest back we can go is PIE language.
Isn't this intersting?
I was reading that new research finds language probably goes back much further than was thought, over 100,000 years. I can't find a reference for it yet though, it was in this year's science news. Language gave humans a powerful advantage over other competing groups of humans, driving evolution. They believe some of the click languages are some of the oldest.
I've seen documentaries that claim from the study of early homo we had the brain development and from the various ear bones they have concluded we were able to make sounds very early on. I believe the cast of brain cases shows the area of the brain for speach was developed. But I'm sure gestures were first. My dogs don't speak much but gesture more.I was reading that new research finds language probably goes back much further than was thought, over 100,000 years. Body language, facial expressions, and emotional noises can be seen in most animal species and is my guess at how we communicated early on. And when we started staying in one place and generations and several tribes coming together made it easier to pass knowledge of a language on to new generations, and not having to worry about scaring off prey/attracting predators while trying to talk makes sense to me too.I've seen documentaries that claim from the study of early homo we had the brain development and from the various ear bones they have concluded we were able to make sounds very early on.
