'A slap in the face': Families of COVID-19 victims slam president's downplaying of his diagnosis
Advocates warn the president's cavalier attitude could make the pandemic worse.

Brian Walter, a New York City transit worker who lost his father to the virus, told ABC News in a statement that Trump's advice to people not to fear the coronavirus "hurts."

MORE: Trump returning to White House after saying he 'learned' about COVID-19 by having it
"It makes me worry for all the families who will still experience the loss of a loved one because our president refuses to take this pandemic seriously," he said.

OMG. My heart goes out to the people who lost loved ones or themselves suffered through the disease and now have to watch as our president becomes the Super-Spreader In-Chief.

My personal reaction yesterday was surprise at all of this. Mostly, I'm surprised at being surprised that Trump would just walk out of the hospital to bring his infected and contagious self into the public and especially into the White House, our White House, The People's House.

What a filthy pig. His respiratory system is shedding dead cells due to that virus and spewing infected globs of snot and mucus all over the People's House. It's as if he stepped in a bucket of shit, got it on his hands and shoes, then just walked into my house, onto my carpet and started fiddling with everything in my kitchen. The image of mice and rats shitting and peeing everywhere comes to mind. The clean-up costs will be enormous. The image of filth surrounding this man cannot be cleansed. I can't help but project this image onto every Republican and especially every conservative Christian that I know. How disgusting.

Hospitals take extreme measures and protocols to contain the virus and protect people. Donald, after getting the most advanced care and treatment available to him and him alone, walks out in a cloud of contagion to tell the people of America "don't be afraid of this virus". As if the President of the United States doesn't have access to care that is unavailable to common people. Not to mention his efforts at depriving those commoners access to any form healthcare services.

One shouldn't be surprised. But I was.

And the mother fucker had the nerve to tell the press how run-down the White House seemed to him when he first moved in. The filthy pig.

What the filthy pig said:

Don't let it dominate you. We have the best medicines and treatments in the world, so if you get sick, just get back to work. Like I did. There is risk but I beat it. Maybe I'm immune.

Good fucking god. That guy has no clue. He has zero concern for people's lives. He took good care of himself, best care in the world, better than any common person could have. He's still under doctor-care. He's still contagious. Yet he advises people to get out there and "don't let it dominate you". What an asshole.

Trump calls for stimulus negotiations to stop until after Election Day ... because of course he did.

President Donald Trump has ordered his negotiators to halt talks over a new stimulus package, after the two sides have struggled for months to reach a deal.

"I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win,Trump wrote in a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon.

Trump weighed in shortly after a private conference call with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the administration's top negotiator, who was scheduled to speak Tuesday with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has been leading Democrats' negotiations.

The decision to pull the plug on the talks is a major blow to Americans still struggling with the fallout from the once-in-a century pandemic and endangers an economic recovery that for months was driven by the initial $2.2 trillion stimulus passed by Congress in the spring. With that money largely spent and gone, economists have warned more support is imperative in the months ahead.

While Mnuchin and Pelosi were still far apart on a final agreement, according to multiple people involved, they were still very much in negotiations -- with the two scheduled to talk by phone Tuesday afternoon and having continued to trade paper and legislative text over the last several days.

Time to burn this circus down and toss the clown.

Rudy Giuliani Coughs Through TV Interview While Awaiting Coronavirus Results Before Announcing He's Negative ... Prayers may have been answered...
:fire::finger:

In what seems to have been only a case of terrible timing, Rudy Giuliani coughed through an interview on Fox News' The Story With Martha MacCallum while discussing Donald Trump's recent COVID-19 diagnosis and his handling of the pandemic.

"I don't wear masks as much as probably I should," Giuliani told Martha MacCallum at one point, maintaining that he wasn't sick yet.

Trump's personal attorney and former New York City mayor began coughing near the end of the segment, which focused on the president's illness and the virus.

While Giuliani said Trump's "symptoms kind of ended by Friday night," he was hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that same day amid a conflicting picture of his health.

The president's doctors later conceded he'd had a fever and two episodes of low oxygen but improved enough to return home to finish treatment on Monday.

Giuliani's segment Monday night then shifted to how the upcoming presidential debates would change in light of Trump's recent diagnosis.

In remarks to reporters on Monday, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he was still willing to face Trump in a debate scheduled for Oct. 15, provided experts said it was safe. (The vice presidential debate on Wednesday will include additional safety measures, organizers have said.)

"When I hear that ... Joe is going to listen to the experts ... the experts aren't always right," Giuliani told MacCallum in his Fox News interview. "Nobody elected the experts."

"There are no experts on governing," Giuliani said, touting Trump's decisions versus Biden.

Just die already you puppet , take Barr and rush with you.

This whole thing has made America look completely insane.
Nope, just Trump and the syncopates who surround him, though most fear covid and some might pay a horrible price. Hey Donald is leader of the herd now, herd immunity. He will be the hero that beat the "china flu" and will deny even getting treated, it's his superior genes etc. Donald got lucky, but covid took a round or two out of him and he ain't out of the woods yet, if it wasn't for the polyclonal antibodies and other antiviral treatments Donald would be on a ventilator or in a morgue, many of America's acute problems would be instantly solved. Nobody is going to get this kind of treatment for awhile and most likely only if you can afford it, with no Obamacare.

One tragedy in all this is the treatments that saved Donald's miserable life will most likely be available to the public in a couple of months, many could be saved, many more could be saved by responsible public health policy and masks. After the election Joe and the democrats will make sure everybody gets treated and vaccinated for free, the distribution will be fair, safe and logical.

All about monoclonal antibody drugs — the experimental treatment that may have turned Trump's COVID-19 around
It’s challenging and expensive to make. It’s laborious, time-consuming, and can cost thousands of dollars per dose

White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci knows it would be illogical, and he said as much, to base anything on a sample size (N) of one. Still, Fauci suspects an experimental antibody injection might very well have been behind U.S. President Donald Trump’s apparent turnaround from COVID-19.

“Whether or not it was that that got him better, I’m strongly suspicious that it was,” Fauci told CNN. “Whenever you have an N equals 1, you can’t prove it, but I think that the monoclonal antibody made a difference.”

Trump received an eight-gram dose of the unlicensed antibody cocktail made by New York-based biotech company Regeneron on Friday. The president, his doctors said, completed the infusion “without incident.” Trump is also being treated with the anti-viral drug, Remdesivir, as well as dexamethasone, a cheap steroid shown to reduce deaths in people severely sick with COVID-19.

Two weeks ago, Regeneron announced, via press release, that its investigational drug, REGN-COV2, reduced viral levels and improved symptoms faster than placebo in 275 people infected with COVID-19 who were mildly to moderately ill, but not sick enough to be hospitalized. The Sept. 29 press release, the company told the National Post Tuesday, “covers the only data we have in humans thus far — we’ll be sure to share more once we have it.” Regeneron is also testing its COVID antibody injection in hospitalized people. There are no human studies in Canada at the moment.

Eli Lilly has also launched human trials of its own antibody therapies.
The logic behind the approach “is really quite simple”, said Ottawa critical care physician Dr. James Downar. It involves mass-producing so-called “monoclonal antibodies,” man-made proteins that act like human antibodies against a target virus or infection, in this case the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.

Scientists first search for the most potent antibodies. In their case, the Regeneron team sifted through thousands of “fully human” antibodies produced by transgenic, or humanized mice exposed to SARS-CoV-2, as well as antibodies identified from humans who have recovered from COVID-19. (The genetically modified rodents produce immune cells human bodies would recognize as their own.)

They focused on two antibodies that bind to the spike protein that adorns the COVID-19 virus the strongest. It’s these pointy proteins that the virus uses like a skeleton key to slip inside human cells. The antibodies glob on to the proteins, blocking the virus from replicating or entering cells and causing infection.
The antibodies are concentrated down, mass-produced in other mice, collected and put into a drug preparation that can be injected into humans.

Antibodies can also be harvested from immune cells collected from the plasma of people exposed to SARS-CoV-2. “You take those cells out and put them in a dish or a flask and ‘immortalize’ them — make them kind of live forever and replicate forever,” producing antibodies over and over again, said Dr. Donald Arnold, a hematologist at McMaster University in Hamilton.
Much hope is being pinned on monoclonal antibodies “because even though they’re expensive and they’re not going to make a gajillion doses, they could make a big difference in the whole landscape of the pandemic,” Eric Topol, founder and director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, California, told STAT.

Reducing viral load is probably a good thing, “but we don’t know if that actually improves outcomes,” Downar, of The Ottawa Hospital said. “There are lots of things that can impair viral replication that don’t actually change outcome. Because by the time you get an actual symptom, the virus has spread a long way and is already doing a lot of damage.

“It’s entirely possible that by the time you’re giving it, you’re giving it too late.”

That Trump got something wholly experimental has raised eyebrows, but monoclonal antibodies are used throughout medicine for treating infectious diseases, autoimmune conditions and lymphomas.

“The short answer is: great promising therapy but we’ll need to see better data,” Downar said.

The downside? It’s challenging and expensive to make. It’s laborious, time-consuming, and can cost thousands of dollars per dose.

As well, any antibody therapy has a potential to trigger an exaggerated or haywire immune or inflammatory response that, in rare cases, could cause damage to multiple organs, Downar said.

“If you’re using it in situations where the person doesn’t have an adequate immune response and the insult, the infection, is causing a lot of damage, then there’s good logic to think this might be effective,” he said.

It’s hard to say what helped Trump. The science is strongest for dexamethasone, a ubiquitous, inexpensive steroid.

“It’s impossible to know,” said Arnold, a professor and one of the principal investigators for a large convalescent plasma trial happening in Canada.

“The other piece is that, as far as I can tell, Trump had fairly mild symptoms, certainly not enough to qualify him to be hospitalized for a prolonged period of time or to require oxygen for a prolonged period of time. For many people, if they had those symptoms, they would probably not be hospitalized —they would be treated in the clinic, and a lot of them would get better on their own, anyway.”

“Really hard to know, for all of those reasons, if this treatment made any difference in this particular case.”

I've come around to keeping him alive only to be always and forever known as the worst ever clown president in the US history. Having the majority of America hate him till he does die, while NOT in the public eye will be greater a fall. Watch him squirm for relevancy after a humiliating loss of the presidency.

Rumor is that Bill Barr has covid, no confirmation yet, this fucker needs to die.
Shit Captain that's the best news I've heard all day with Donald going off the deep end and all.

If Billy boy has covid Donald will order up the same treatment he had pronto, antibodies for Billy ASAP, desperate Donald needs Billy badly, it would be like losing his cock and brain in one shot. Donald needs Bill to steal the election and Bill needs to steal the election so that he can stay out of prison too.

I don't feel bad about Bill, it would be like wishing Goering or Himmler a speedy recovery during the middle of WW2, moral equivalency. This is not an election in the normal sense, it is the repulsion of an assault on the constitution and liberal democracy, a fight for freedom and the soul of the nation. It's not even a referendum on Trump, it is a nation sitting in judgement on itself and perhaps deciding to move forward into the sunlight.
