Hi all, really grate site for everything' really, info, people, etc..
I remember reading somewhere that you can increase the female-to-male ratio by treating the seeds with chemicals before germinating.
From what i understood is that ethylene, a naturally occurring gas given off by ripening bananas, has been found to increase the feminisation of seeds.
Before germination, place your seeds into a sealed plastic bag containing a few banana skins. Leave the seeds for around 14 days, wrap the skins in tissue to absorb any moisture they give off. Keep the bag in a warm place and air the seeds regularly, replacing the skins as they ripen,
I would love to know if this dose work, hope someone knows all about this and it is true,
Many thanks
