Do you guys reccomend using super thrive? I'm still reviving a stressed plant so I'm thinking a teaspoon per 5 gallons couldn't hurt?
could hurt your wallet a bit

Thanks pf, unfortunately a couple inches of closed cell foam was insufficient, so I think I'm going to have to chill. but at least the foam will help keep the cold in. The plant you babysat looks like it might have had some nute issues, burn perhaps. What was your thoughts in how it turned out?You might not need to water inject. A few layers should provide sufficient air gap insulation. Be simpler too.
FYI Plants with trimmed tap roots are doing just fine. Alas, another one is a male. For sho one is female, the last to soon to tell
Here's final pic of the plant I baby sat for 31 days. Moved her out this morning into darkness for 48. She was finished under HO T5 using various aquarium bulbs to simulate LED spectrums. She is soil based, but thought you might like to see how T5s can flower.

That's pretty badass. I hate when I think I have an original idea. When you're at HD, check in the corrugated roofing isle for this new greenhouse material. It's clear/blue, thick, and had bigger channels. Its not in every market, and is spend, but it is some cool material.Cool, thx Mike.. I will check the Depot... This DIY page for making solar collectors seems a nice starting point, chick this out- pretty cool! http://www.iwilltry.org/b/projects/build-a-simple-solar-water-heater/
I'll look for it, although I suspect smaller channels provide more surface area and therefore heat transfer. Your idea was still your origninal thought, and it's good to see it was a good one. I still credit you for giving me the original idea to look for that- so thanks much brothaThat's pretty badass. I hate when I think I have an original idea. TB I wasn't referring to the closed cell foam. I meant the corrugated sheets- several layers with all the air space MIGHT be sufficient. Thanks pf, unfortunately a couple inches of closed cell foam was insufficient, so I think I'm going to have to chill. but at least the foam will help keep the cold in. Yeah, it's tough to know where to start when the plant has issues and the guy won't tell you what he did to it. Hopefully he didn't spray them with RAID or some sort of toxins in the soil. Can't complain about recieving a couple free plants though can u...TB I wasn't referring to the closed cell foam. I meant the corrugated sheets- several layers with all the air space MIGHT be sufficient. Understood, but my point was that if closed cell foam, which would have a better insulating value wouldn't work, I doubt the cor. plastic would in that case.
Here's an idea How about circling the pod with a one inch pvc that you drill a bunch of small holes in aiming them at the pod... connect to a lp pump + a 15 minute timer and cycle it as needed during day light hours? This would be a simple way to cool, but inefficient and wasteful of water. Also, I live in high humidity, therefore evaporative cooling is not so efficient here- it works best in arid environments where the air can evaporate alot of water before becoming saturated. Luckily making the corrugated panel heat exchanger is actually not a very hard job, and all the cooling it produces will stay somewhat insulated from the ambient temps because of the insulation I did install between the chamber walls.
RE Plant photos: Either my friend who asked me to baby sit it isn't being forthcoming, or the guy who supposedly dropped it off never returned his call when I asked normal questions; strain, soil, ferts... The soil was totally saturated when I got her. I think he probably blasted it with a bloom booster, and locked nutes out. It quickly developed a nasty case of gnats, and PM. I was killing gnats 3-4Xs a day using an electric fly swatter as well as spraying H2O2 on small PM colonies. I had some left over pollen from my afgani dom male and dusted one lower branch, but she might have systemic issues that get passed down.
Mine ran for 3 months when I last looked- and it was still white and brand new looking. Not sure when it'll even need changing with the light nutes I use. There is actually alot of surface area and they're meant to last 6 months or so under whole house flow conditions- so I think you'll be fine. The cartridges are only 2-3 bucks anyway, and pretty easy to switch out. I guess I still recommend bleach in the water because those cartridges are made from vegetable cellulose if I am correct, and if so, can be a breeding ground for bacteria. I would not use organics with them, or in HPA at all anyway, but other than that- I think they'll last quite a bit and I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to tell if the pump is working too hard once the cartridge is filled or not. Perhaps once per crop, or every other would be a good idea...Hey TB,.. just got my filters in, same ones as you have. I need to make an HD run tomorrow to get um installed, but they look tits
I'm wondering something now though,.. how many gallons are those filters good for? Through my acc-less system i run 3gal a day through my 200 mesh filters now. Think they'll clog fast?
Verry nice man... But you already knew that! Good to see your nozzles are doing the job too- that's pretty good proof. I am glad you went through with testing them. It's always nice to know working aero nozzles are as far away as the local Home Depot- and cheap too! Had to rep u on this one- well deserved! Btw- what are your rootzone temps running at, and what ec/ppm r u currently running? Oh yeah, and also good to see your innovative root chambers are doing the trick too...I thought I'd give a reply to that recent hp aero/debate vid. http://goanimate.com/go/movie/0Eng8xFV3p8w?utm_source=emailshare&uid=0CaFgG6IAvI4
