Trouble With Getting Calyxes To Swell

I'm a first time grower and I decided to try one plant first just to get my head around the process. I'm not that familiar with the growing lingo so please excuse me if I don't understand some things.

I'm growing in a closet with a plug&grow lamp [compact fluorescent]. The heat output isn't great so there isn't much need to have a fan. I started using a blue light and then switched to the red gamma ray light approx 12 weeks into the growing cycle...far too late I'm sure.

I've had the red lamp on for about 6-8 weeks now. There are flowers, it's definitely a female. The plant is nice and green with few issues, however, for some reason the calyxes are not swelling. There are trichromes within the general area of the bud...and loads of buds all over the plant.

What must I do to get the buds to swell and finally harvest this plant? I appreciate any help:lol:

it is probably already living up to its genetic potential. no matter how much water i pour on someone with black hair....his hair won't turn blonde. its the same with plants, you dont get anything different than what you start with.

I thought I was starting with a plant with good potential though. It's bubblegum that I got seeds for in a shop in Amsterdam centre. Since there is some mild form of quality control there for consumers, my assumption was that there should be an appropriate yield. The guy in the shop said the people in the shop would use the seeds for their own personal use as well so they were reliable.

I thought the problem might be more with nutrients. I haven't been able to properly feed it in the flowering stage as it is difficult to find the proper NPK mix in Ireland...especially since it's no longer growing season here.

Please don't tell me it's all I'll get or I'll cry :( I have a couple more seeds that should be good so I can always restart with my process and do the lighting better, etc.

Is there any sense in waiting a few more weeks? Or would it be a waste? The flowers only started showing up about 3 weeks ago. The pistals are long and white. Any more info you need please let me know. I just hate thinking I wasted almost 5 months on this one plant:(

Thanks for your help.
