trimming/prunning my plants for maximum yield?

Hi All,

I'v been growing for a while but i usually pinch the top bits of plants until they go crazy with nodes and branches. This time around i'm growing arjan's strawberry haze and i've let the plant grow naturally (except one that i trimmed like i used to).

I was wondering if by looking at these pictures you can advise me on whether i need to trim or chop off any fan leaves to increase yield (more light will go into the inner branches?)

2 of the plants have a lot of distance between each branch but one of them as you can see in the picture has loads of close internodes (if thats what its called?).

I know the plant needs the leaves to survive, but would removing some and letting light in help my plant yield more?

thanks again.

PS. The plants are Arjan Strawberry Haze, on a 400w hps light (theres another 250w envirolite but its off cause the weather's too hot). i havent started feeding bloom yet, its only had biobizz grow and fishmix so far. It's been in 12/12 for 2 days so far.

Top multipule heads i have been doing this for a while now each of shot brance from the plant can be topped this will give you two heads on each set of brances comeing of the main stem. But for future grows if you top at a young age this will give you even more tops because the tops will have two then once topped again will give you 4,This can be a great way of getting a realy nice yeild but not letting the plants get out of hand height wise.........................................tyke...............................................................

yes that's what i've done with one of them, but what i was asking is mroe to do witht the other thin and tall plants...since i've already put them into 12/12, toping the heads is usless because nothing will grow out in time... what i wanted to know is whether i should chop some fan leaves/stalks to get more light into the rest of the plant?

I will definitely be cutting off the bottom branches to use as cuttings...

You could tie down some of the branching to open up the canopy and allow more light through. Pulling off a few leaves here and there never hurt anything either.

The best way to increase yileds indoors is allowing the plant to bush out a little with mulitple branches forming the canopy of the plant. That can be done with topping, training or super-cropping. It's too late to really do anything else with two of your plants other than tie them down, but your other two could be super-cropped very easily.
