Trimming leaves so light can get to smaller leaves?

It is better to tuck the leaves that are shading bud sites. Plants use the fan leaves to store energy and as you remove them you decrease the plants ability to flourish. I never remove a fan leaf unless it is more than 1/2 dead. Creative tucking is the way to go.

This is a matter of intense debate. Most will tell you to leave them alone but this is something you will have to make your own mind up about. My recommendation is you trim a plant or two and see the results for yourself. Never remove more than 30% of the leaves in one go as your plant is likely to do into shock and hermie on you.

I agree with CS. With no sun rotating or light movers to shine different angles of light, trimming is a good thing.
