Trimming fan leaves?

I was wondering what people's theories/experiences are pertaining to removing
fan leaves off plants in flower? My theory is that these leaves are feeding the plant
and can be abscised by plant at any time. But just a theory. End game, maximize
quantity/quality of bud.

Leaves at the bottom that get no light steal from the plant. Leaves that get lots of light feed the plant.

I cut the useless leaves, And the ones that are big and in the way of the budz.
