trimming before harvest, how long to wait before the flip

Hello everyone,
so i have a few strains going, i trimmed them up & lolipopped them about 4 days ago, how long should i wait until flipping to flower.

also, i will final lollipop in flower between week 2-3 of flower as soon as the stretch is over, sound like a good game plan ? suggestions?

any help would be appreciated

i am a dedicated auto grower but from what i have read and heard is that you should flip to 12/12 when she is at half the height you want her to be in the end, and as for loli in flower do not do!!! when any lady is in flower just leave her be, we want her to be nice and relaxed, stress means risk, risk means disappointmens, id say let her be and as for the switch can anyone verify thats right? i dont want to send anyone down the wrong path, hope this helps. any more questions i will do my best to help

never lollipop during flowering, if you want to partial harvest, some people like doing that. But to get more budding points it's not a good idea, unless you are growing a IBL Jamaican that flowers for four months. You'll screw yourself out of some colas if you do.
I know a couple growers that like to take the colas (when they are DONE) and then they wait another week or two for the lower buds to ripen. BUT not at week three.
I personally don't recommend that, but i have a perpetual harvest system that i use, so i pull em all at once.

I honestly just came across this info about lollipopping right when the stretch is finished. I have read a ton of stuff which coincides with what you guys are saying, grow bible included, once you flip to 12/12 then dont touch it and thats what ive always heard and read. I will say that this would have been more of an experiment, that i have been 2nd guessing myself on.

so lets get back to the main question,

i just trimmed a sativa heavy jack herer, literally (actual meaning of literally) just cut off about 1/2 of the plant due to space and it was getting stressed bc the roots couldnt support the entire plant, i killed two others letting them get too big and trying to correct a massive deficiency since getting them as clones. It is a very spindally wirey plant that when topped and or fimmed or lst is not a good idea. this pheno i just havent understood fully until recently, to some degree. It does appear to be more lively and flourishing now that Ive trimmed her up a little.

so i guess i should ask, how long to wait to flower after trimming one jack herer A LOT. Lightly pruning, or taking off bud sites of maui wowi, ak47 and game changer. when i say lightly pruning i do mean that i was taking bud sites and fan leaves off of the plants that were LST and or where they would be getting no light and they were on the under side of a branch. I took no more than 10% max off the bottom and underside of each plant.

Depends on the plant and how much it was stressed. I generally wait AT LEAST 2 weeks after any major work (topping, supercropping, cutting half off^ ect) but minor trimming can be done at any time. I would not wait to put plants that are ready into flower just because they needed a little trim.

i disagree with grease, provided we have the same definition of "loilipopping". Removing all bottom branches that get no direct light is a GREAT idea, this is what i call lolipopping as it causes them to be bare naked at the bottom and look like lollipop sticks. The bud sites u are removing will produce "smalls" airy bud that has low thc content and are not worth the energy the plant puts into them.

I lollipop sometimes if they're stretching too much. But always early in flower, if you lollipop late in flowering you may end up messing with density of your nugs above lollipop.

i think i misunderstood him then, as i was thinking he was topping (upper parts) in the flowering period.
So i agree with you, two weeks is a minimum to wait, however i do disagree with you on one thing, and its a little thing, the lower nugs are indeed lighter/fluffier, but the nugs i grow, top to bottom are the same potency. NO question.
I'm def old school though, i don't take anything off the plant in the flowering period. NOTHING, minus the lowest sunleaves that dry out. Anything that makes the plant "bleed", i don't do. Just my method.
Doesn't mean you are right or wrong, just means i do it differently. But my lower nugs smoke just great, as good as the colas. Plus they make good hash.

with the lower leaves mj uses the energy stored in them towards the end of her days, when we stop using nutes she relys on them to give her her last final push, personally i would remove as little as possible just to let the light threw but being very careful not to stress her, this is just my method and every grower for their own, trial and error. this is what this whole experience is about for us all, finding what works best, best of luck with ur grow.
