Trim Question

Hello All,

While trimming I dip my scissors in isopropyl alcohol between scissor exchanges. At the bottom of the class of isopropyl there is a bunch of crystals and hairs. Can I let the alcohol evaporate away and then use what is left?

Is it safe?

I'd like lots of feedback because I'm not doing it unless it's pretty much unanimous.

I don't see why not, its the same as doing ISO HASH just make sure the scisssors didn't come in contact with dog hair etc, lol then u would be smokin dog hair and whatever else you touched before u dipped it into the glass of isopropyl, what percent is the iso?

Yeah that works fine, I usually use a razor blade to scrape it of scissors every once in a while but I clean everything with Iso at the end.

I would not do it, that is poison, even after it dries idk if it would be safe or not , I have read about this some where, website suggested not to do it, how to extract thc, some people use liquor and let it dry,

91% Iso. I can't seem to fine 99% anywhere.

I'd like to see some more responses. I'm inclined to chuck it but it's a lot. I trimmed two heavily frosted Apollos and they had a lot of resin and crystals.

Please keep the factors or experienced opinions coming.

I don't want to get sick for such a small amount.

Next time, scrape em off with a razor blade and save that scissors hash. You don't want to mess around smoking that shit !

Scientifically I have no idea, would I take a chance, no.... I scrape my scissors, sometimes pull chunks off my gloves but rarely do anything with it other than give it to friends who think it's the coolest thing ever. This sort of falls into the same category as scraping pipes and drinking bong water :)

If you pipe was lined with hash, and your bong water and bong were completely clean and had hash dropped in them lol... I myself wouldn't categorize unsmoked hash with dirty bong water and dirty pipes... No offence just my opinion.

I gather every bit of trim resin. Hot knife the scissor hash, and then I also freeze the gloves I use and peel the hash off of them.

You can get virgin alcohol (99.9) at auto paint suppliers like Space Age Automotive Paint, but it's usually 30 or so bucks a gallon. A much cheaper (in the long run) and more fun way is to run diluted alcohol through an organic chemistry set (which is what I do now). Even cheaper than that is to add salt to the mix and then decant the pure alcohol off the top (the salt binds with the water and falls out of solution).

As long as it's not denatured alcohol, you'll be fine. Denatured anything means that they've added poisons to the mix so if you were to swallow it, you'd quickly puke it all up.

I like the pam idea but you cant keep any of the good stuff just wiping it off with a green pad. I just scrape the scissors with a razor when they get built up. I made ISO hash last year and the taste and buzz bout made me sick! I dont suggest using ISO with anything your gonna smoke. Using it just for cleaning is all I do. This is all just my own opinion

I had too much to trim to worry about the stuff on the scissors. I need clean scissors much more than a little more hash lol......dry ice hash made with trim.....

How do you keep that kief so pure?, no matter what sized mesh I use it always turns out with a greenish tint.

I use 100mic bubble bag & the trim has to really really dry.......and freeze it first. The less shaking required the better.......

I'm a recovering addict. I used to defeat the time release in opana (oxymorphone) pills by crushing and soaking in iso, evaporate the iso, add water and shoot up. So I have shot up what you are thinking about smoking. I'm perfectly healthy. No harm will come to you. The most danger you could face is being impatient and lighting it before you evaporate all the iso and end up setting your face on fire.
