Trichomes - what are they and when do i harvest?

ok, i found some really useful trichome information on the internet about what trichomes are, what they look like and when to harvest and i thought i'd post it up here to let everyone know EXACTLY what they are etc. because i was confused as hell when i first started reading up on these lil glands of joy!!

Hey since were on the topic , have you looked at yours , wut do you use ? how powerful of a magnifying glass do you need ?

well i've ordered a "60-100x magnification illuminated microscope".
they're really really cheap! less than £5 inc shipping costs!
i think it's gena be worth it, cuz u cant put a price on PERFECT buds!!

how do u get the buds under the microscope without , ruining the plant or cutting anything I dont understand this yet

haha i've been wandering the same thing.
But i think you can take some bud leaves and examine them but i wouldn't quote me on that! if anyone could help us out on that one it'd b great! :D
I might just sacrifice a small bud and examine that.

strorni, from your pictures it looks like you have easy access to your plants. When you get the scope you will probably find it's a challenge to focus and keep still. I followed some advice and pinched some bud pieces then lay them on a white paper towel in the dark and look at them that way. I had a hell of a time trying to use the scope standing up but on a table that way it's easy to be steady. You'll need plenty of AAA batteries if it's the radio shack model.

You are correct my friend, the Growfaqs has great info and pics for this. This is why people become assholes on here, cause people ask questions without trying to find the answer first. It is all there, every answer you could ever need in growfaqs. :peace:
