8 weeks into flower under 400 HPS in soil. Here's my trichomes. Are these cloudy? Cloudy/Clear? Amber? ( I wish)

This is my first time growing and checking trichs for harvest time, I used to just watch pistils. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Its depends on how many weeks strain.then you start checking a w eek before ending, you shouldnt look at trichs at week 4 because touching the plant will effect bud production in a bad way by stressing the plant.trichs start growing like a hair then a ball forms at the end ,the ball starts clear than cloudy than amber..if you have a radioshack nearby they see 100x handheld microscope [like the 420 scope in ht mag] for about 15.00..peace redleg

I'd say cloudy/clear but mostly clear from what I can see - you wanna check them in a fortnight and see if they're ready to start the flush (personally I like my top bud at least to have a fair few ambers before I give them the fortnight flush...should be just about ready by then if about a third of them are amber)

Damn, stoner moment. I meant 8 weeks of flower, not 4 - I edited original post. Thanks for the replies.

Picture was taken with Sony DSC-H5, 7.2 megapix. It's a large body point and shoot, couple of years old. I took the picture in macro mode from about 3/4" away, then cropped in to get closer. Here's the original picture.

I used GIMP. Opened the original high rez picture, used box selector tool to outline area of interest, then right click, edit-> copy. Open new file, default settings. Right click and select edit -> paste. Now under image, select autocrop, then save however you want.

I turned off the lights last Sunday, and have been super busy between work, fixing cars, and trimming. I still have some on the plant, I'll post more pics tonight.

OK, here's some other pics. Here's the inside of my cab at harvest time. I know it is a mess, but this is my first round.

Here's a close-up of when I turned the lights off 5 days ago.

And here's today.

And the hanging.

I think it might have put on more frost being in the dark, but I'm not too sure. Further experimentation is needed - which means testing different buds, looks like I have my work cut out for me.

Plant diary 002.jpgHi folks:
I turned this plant on the 15th of July, it will be eight weeks in the flowering period in five days. I stopped ferts two weeks ago, flushed a week ago and wonder when I should do the 48 hour darkness thing? All help gratefully received. :-)

Looking good! Looks like it'll be ready by then, but without more pics it's kinda hard to tell. Whenever it is as done as you want, just unplug your light and let them sit. I unplugged mine last Sunday and was just going to let them sit a day or two in the dark, but I wound up trimming over a period of a few days, finally finishing last night, which was Friday. I can't see a difference in the buds, I just need a way to dry them evenly now.
