Trichomes look ready, buds are still tiny

Here’s some pics for experienced eyes. Switched to 12/12 on December 19 but buds just aren’t growing but trichomes are all cloudy. I Have only had 2 grows in the past and I would usually have huge swollen buds at this point but this is also a different strain than before. Are some strains this small or should I ignore trics and let them go a while longer?

They are not ready yet in my opinion, I would let them go a couple weeks longer. Some strains do have a popcorn style bud structure but this still seems to have a bit more developing to do

Those things have at minimum another 4 weeks

There are no amber trichomes in that pic.
When there are 60-70% milky trichomes, 15% amber trichomes and 15% clear trichomes is a good target.

Agreed. At least 2 more weeks.

Thanks for the replies guys. I usually harvest just a smidge early since I’m not a huge fan of couch lock and personal preference is mostly cloudy but I’ll give them another two weeks and hopefully buds will gain some size.

Forget about trichome gazing and just mark 15 weeks on your calendar. Those pics right there show a plant that has just started budding. Isn't the idea to get a bunch of bud and for it to be high quality? Well neither of those will happen after 6 weeks of flowering, not a chance in hell, you're just kidding yourself. Weed growing takes time, which is why the fast buck artists in the legal states only put out crap.
