Trichomes????can you produce more???

I was wondering if there was any thing you could do to help promote more trichomes.?I thought something like less direct wind on them or less spraying?? If anyone knows of any myths, I am open to anything..

If you supplement your HPS with MH or CFL's of the 6500K spectrum, you will increase THC because of the UV light.

Mh combined with hps works,mh puts off more uv rays than hps but realistically mh does not produce much. You can try repti-glo 10.0 uvb,I have used one in 3 grows.Remember genetics is the main variable in dank ass weed.

great question. not sure there are absolute and definative answers. In a general sense, the quest is to improve the quality of the environment in a manner that also supports enhanced trich development. I have carried along a thread for a bit now entitled https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/36368-trichomes-thc-uvb-light.html which might provide some additional background for you. Personally I am using good genetics, a lot of luving care'n'attetnion, enhanced CO2 and UVB light. I can''t say it is one factor or another, but regardless, I like my results. Good luck with your efforts. Walk On!~

One grower here has mentioned higher temps favor higher tric production. Does this have a basis in fact? Obviously there would be limits, but say mid 80's better than mid 70's?

I think temps cxan contribute for sure. but the thing to remember is when you change the brackets for specific parameters, there is a good chance you also have to adjust some other parameters. I use the example that CO2 and UVB supplemented require commensurate increases in available water, heat, and food, and light energy. It is all like super- or turbo-charging. With every atmosphere of increased induction pressure, the engine requires more fuel and more air. I view the plants in a simlar manner.

I thought there was some old wise tale or something , I just thought someone else might of heard of something.thanks all for the input. any and all info i can get is needed

well, my temps have gone up to 90F though generally not much more than 85F .... I think it is good to have the higher CO2 with the higher temps, it is my understanding that the ability of the plants improves up to a certain temp .... and I think it cannot gain any further benefit beyond 95? but I do not know that for sure.

Trichomes are considered (by some) to be a defensive response to dessication in high heat and dry climates. That is why it is argued that strains from the hotter and drier regions of the world are considered by some to be more potent. So the relationship with temperature also make logical sense. But it still doesn't make temp unequivocal in it influence over trichome production or density.

Most of the strains higher in thc percentages come from areas that are exposed to more uv rays, generally these places are hotter also,I don't know if heat is directly related to thc production, but a combination of Co2,uv rays and mild temps work great for me,but the main thing is genetics.

i heard somewhere can't remember where but, to increase trichs not to spray as much, or less direct fan or something....I'm guess im just a damn burn-out cause i cant remember shit anymore.....:-)

.,,.,..,,there is a thread of all the crazy myths people try,but most don't work. Here is one, hanging your plant upside down draws all the thc from the roots into the buds making them more potent.Nothing but bs

give it massive amounts of light energy, feed it well, provide limitless clean water and fresh air .... and they will grow magnificently .... Walk On!~
