Trichomes and your thoughts - is it legit?

I think it’s easier and possible to just look at the whole flowers “tan” instead of scoping individual trich’s. You can really see when whole flowers turn from frost white to abit more amber or tan. Might be harder to tell under HPS though.
Yeah I agree, this whole looking at the micro level is kinda for the birds.

I guess you know better than I what killed those leaves ?
Ok, I looked up what your saying - what over fertilized leaves look like in flower, looks like my leaves. Late flower is tough to judge how much nutrients on this plant, it started fading fast so I did increase fertilizer frequency but cut back on strength. I’ve seen this strain grown but not by my hands and at five weeks of flower it faded quick from there on out. I think this may be a more temperamental strain coupled with me not having experience growing it more than once.

Here’s it by another grow at five weeks, I’m at 14 weeks.

Agreed
I don’t even get rid of a plant till I have ran it twice or more
Thing is I was taking back by your concern on cure
When I felt most cbd strains aren’t flavorful

Also @Herb & Suds, with my what your saying about watering practices, its the first week that I gave it non-ph’d well water. I ran out of ph down and am seeing ph fluctuations discolouration's on its leaves. Thought I could ride the last week or two out on well water. This has been a good learning experience.

I run without ever checking ph but my watering/feeding practices are on point

So I’m starting to think my temperatures too high and preventing the plant from maturing. My temps hit 30C everyday through flower.

I wouldn’t feel bad….my temps have been very middle of the road and my 3 autos refuse to finish….going on week 18. One looks picture perfect but has very few ambers. The other two seem to have finally stopped spitting out new white hairs, but it’s taken forever for the whites to turn color, and hardly any bother to recede…..so there are long brown hairs covering the buds…which have no ambers either. I’ve tried for the last month to trick em by reducing light hours, lowering temps at lights out, and watering with chilly water. Nothing seems to work. I know they’ve suffered through some stress but I haven’t treated them that badly.
Since there are hardly any clear trichs left I’m gonna give em one more week and clear the room.
Your buds looks great to me….I don’t know the strain and am no expert, but they look fairly ripe.
If anything looks unfinished it might be the long hairs….but maybe some strains like to wear their hair longer.
My only experience was growing outdoors 25 yrs ago and we grew the same strain every yr for 10-11yrs, both clones and seed. There was hardly any variation and it didn’t have those stringy hairs….once it was ripe that is. I couldn’t tell you what the trichomes looked like. We just called em crystals and the more the better.

I think I might have to chop that
Not a pretty girl but she is all yours ;)
Maybe a stupid question but are u referring to her not being pretty because of the condition of the leaves? I guess ideally you’d want everything to remain green and vibrant until harvest….but I’ve looked at 100s of grows and diaries since taking up indoor growing and could probably count on one hand the grows that end up like that. I realize that’s 100% grower driven. And you’ve got the art pretty well down to a science.
Regardless it gives me something to shoot for.

I’m a bit concerned on terps as well as bud rot
But pictures only tell what is happening now
Not what proceeded it

Can u elaborate a little? What leads u to suspect bud rot? And the terp comment went over my head….does that mean you’re afraid the bud won’t taste and/or smoke smoothly ?
Sorry for all the questions….but there are so many folks on these sites doling out advice despite not knowing squat…..so once I’m sure someone has a good understanding of the topic I like to pick their brain..

It looks a bit beat up tbh
I can’t say she is a runway model
But not many of us marry Kate Upton
You seem to be hedging for a fight
But I have no dog in this
Your plant and your smoke report will dictate results
Unless you send me massive quantities for my personal evaluation

Haaa….it’s not my plant…mine really look beat up. I just hate not knowing what I’m looking at or what someone is talking about….hence the 20 questions. But I think I’m done for now.

Right now I have 2 Space Monkey x Sleeskunk that are almost black but still have quite a few clear trichs, and 20% amber and coming down soon. But I have about 30% clear.

No bud rot that I can see, I’ll keep an eye out for it tho. It fell over at one point. Yeah terps may be low. Leaves on this strain turn a deep dark black/purple

I harvested my last Lemon Pie auto at 14 Weeks, IMG_5117.jpeg current Lemon Pie Auto is at 10 weeks with barely any orange pistils.JPEG image-BB6595542CF1-1.jpeg I cut a very tiny bud off and dried it for an hour on the back of my lights, then put the still damp weed in my vapexhale I was almost tripping. That's just my experience but I'm coming to the conclusion that once the plant stops bulking up, anytime after that is OK to chop. The best thing is to experiment and see for yourself.
