Hello,

I'm heading into week 8 of flower and trichomes are still clear.

My question is once i see them starting to go milky, aprox how much time until end of flower. I'm looking for a balanced high.

It varies on strain and environment but probably another week or two just keep checking also to note some strains don’t amber

I'm sorry i didn't specify. I'm growing BlueDream non auto.

Also, would like to throw in one last noob question for you. If some of the buds which are closer to the light progress faster then some of the lowers, can you just cut those sections off and allow a bit more time for some of the lower branches. Idk if cutting off some major branches near the top will throw the plant into shock or not and therefore you need to harvest the entire plant.

Again any help is appreciated.

You can use the pistils as a good way to determine when it's ready as well as color of the trichromes, once they're all mature they won't be green and sticking straight out any more, when it's like 75% - 25% matured pistils vs. new ones is when I harvest. But to your second question I've harvested my top colas and left my bottom ones to finish without any troubles in the past.
