So according to my calculations i had 1 month till i pull the little ladies. for shits and giggles i took some small clippings and looked at the trichs to my surprise im 20-25% amber already, wtf? i checked the girls again w/ same results. shit, emergency flush begins. 4 days later, no more nutes just water and molasses, i check some more clippings to monitor the trichomes and holy shit my trichs are 80% clear minimal cloudy and amber trichs. these bitches turned on me. has anyone ever experienced anything like this. Im a seasoned grower, no expert, this isnt my first rodeo. i have never seen this before. just curious if anyone else has seen this...

When you checked your plants the first time, was the temperature for the past couple of days somewhat cold. I grow in Maine and this is very common. You will go out one day and take a look and think that you have maybe one week left. Then you go check the next week and it looks like you have another 3 weeks to go. When the weather warms up after its been cold it seems to reduce the amber trichs. Hope this was helpful!

blastjuice u may have nailed it. we had high 90's almost triple digits for a week straight prior to me checking them and then we dropped to mid seventies literally the next day and it still been mid seventies to present day. seems like a logical answer and appreciate your input. keep'em green and frosty brother...... oh and shnkrmn im always really really really high thats just how i feel normal :)

How does the plant look? Dont go by trichs alone, also look for your swollen calyxes, receding brown hairs, etc. Just because a few trichs are amber doesnt 100% determine ripeness.

I agree check, similar thing happened to me but it turned out it was just the background color of the table I used while checking the trichs. thought I had all clear changed surfaces and had 30% amber

Ive always harvested by the overall look of the bud itself. Here is a quote from FDD2BLK thread on harvesting. Extremely helpful when trichombs play games.

notice the difference? it's pretty easy to see once it occurs.
