Nirvana's Chrystal strain, day 54 of flower (week 7.5), 169 watt CFL

about 70% cloudy, 30% clear, a couple ambers. I keep checking her with my 100x microscope which gives me a real good look.

Probably start flushing in a week or so (week 8.5) to help plump up my buds, maybe harvest around may 5 (week 10)

Whats some advice on this? I know many think its not necessary to flush, but I noticed on my first grow it seemed to fatten my calyx's up quiet nice. Ive recently been adding molasses in with my nutes, is it wise to continue flushing up until i chop with about 1 Tbsp of molasses per Gallon of water, or should I just flush with straight water?

IMHO, flush is not needed unless you have any defs or overnutes. keep normal feed and just gradually nuted down every watering before you harvest. 75% cloudy and 25% amber is couchlocked and if you wanna body stoned, then let it ripen real good :D

BTW , the lady is looking good and yummy :D

Happy growing and peace

well done with just CFLS....looking good!!!!!!!!! One thing.... I'd guess your flush on your first grow had little to do with the calyxes fattening up... probably just the plants natural response to the "end" of her flowering cycle...

thanks guys for the cfl compliments. Its only my second grow, just for personal use, and ive got some good results both times by just putting a cfl realllly close where ever the plant needs light. Side lighting her seems to help side and inner production, getting my buds nice and fat. . just hope they arent as fluffy as clouds. I know they wont be dense as a HPS or other high power light, but i can hope!

Yeah this strain seems great for cfl and small spaces, wonder how it would do as a big plant. Its got tons of branch arms as you can see. I was able to train the 4 first branches at the bottom of the plant to grow pretty much as big or bigger than my main cola!

so 5 huge colas, and at least another 15 smaller colas, cant complain!

I'd say FLUSH! The 30 yr growers I know say FLUSH! FLUSH! A trick I learned from one, when you think your bowl SHOULD be fried (taste) take a look, is it still dark black ash or white? If black (a kinda shiny black)... I'm betting you didnt flush well or at all. It was proven to me that same way. Upon finishing a bowl I was TRYING TO EMPRESS a Mentor of mine, he said, didnt give this one a proper flush did you? And my face went RED! bcuz i KNEW he busted me...LOL Normally I give a good flush, but I KNEW I had skimpt on this ONLY ONE! BUSTED! hehe
I am JUST starting to use molasses DURING FLUSH. Ive always used it ( a bit more moderately than most i see) during flower up til flush. I dont know yet if i like useing it DURING FLUSH since Ive not cured any yet.

I think when you have more than 10% amber you are already in a period of degradation. Others disagree. If I were you I would stop feeding now, flush if you like, and plan to harvest in a week or less.

Thanks man ive heard this as well. Wish we could determine it on a scientific level and put an end to the disputes! but i am flushing her now with plain water thats been sitting out a few days. Plan to harvest next weekend, which will be a total of exactly 10 weeks in flower.

I loved growing that strain Chrystal from Nirvana seeds. Two of three of my biggest yields per plant were from Nirvana Seed Co. Chrystal and Blue Mystic. I suppose everyone has their take if they use molasses. I use molasses at the 3rd week of flowering in my water regimen until I am ready to flush. I flush for 10-14 days with Clearex.
