Treated Rainwater

Could treated rainwater be used as the base for a hydroponic system nutrient solution (ie. treated with chlorine and aged to remove). I tested the PPM's and it read 002 with a PH of 6.6. Walmart distilled water had a higher PH and about the same PPM's. Was just wondering since hydroponics is supposed to be a sterile environment (for the most part). Rain water is better than my treated well water at 155 PPM's and Ph 7.0. Just not sure if any nasty things would be left behind after treating with chlorine.
