Traveling from Canada to Spokane, WA

Hey all,

I'm going to be traveling from Alberta, Canada to Spokane in the very near future, and I have a couple questions about marijuana there.

My understanding it is now legal in WA state for recreational use. Do these new laws also apply to out-of-state (or country) visitors? I'm obviously only interested in acquiring enough for while I'm there.

Also, how does one acquire it there if the above is ok? Do you have shops/cafes like Amsterdam? If not, what's the process for acquiring some?

It is legal to have up to 1 oz. It is not legal to buy or sell yet, but will be next year. There are really only two ways to get pot in WA, 1: medical card lets you grow and buy from dispensaries and have up to 24 oz, or 2: black market.

If you are not a resident of Washington State, then you can not have a medical card so you will be left with the black market.

Edit: It is not legal to smoke pot within view of the public, so you can't walk down the street smoking or you might, maybe, could get a ticket or be told to put it out.
