Transplanting question

So Hurricane Irene through a wrench into my grow last weekend, and I pulled all my plants out of the ground and put them into plastic bags. After the storm, I brought them back outside and transplanted them into 5 gallon buckets. They were all between 3 and 6 feet tall, yet the majority of them had root balls the size of a basketball, which seemed really small to me. Is there anything I can give the plant at this stage of its life, almost a month into flowering, that will help its roots develop a bit over the next few weeks?

oh my, maybe taking the plants out of the ground was a bad idea. I guess it depends on where you were at, I'm in nova scotia and we didnt get it to bad, I think winds up to 100 km/h, all my plants made it fine other then a few small broken branches, very heavy duty plants. I'm sorry to say once the plant has gone into flowering the roots stop growing, so whatever root systems you have on the plants right now, thats whats going to sustain it the rest of its life. As of right now how have your plants took? have any of the leaves started to droop or any yellowing? Right now its all about bud production so they want the water and the fertilizer and lots of sun, that is if they havnt gone into shock. Hope that helps happy toking

My plant was in 5 gallon buckets and i took them from that to something bigger, and the roots got significantly bigger, try something bigger?
