fellow growers,
i currently have 2 poison afghans that are females, the other 4 i had growing (bagseed) were males. They are a week into flowering. I noticed while cleaning out the pots of the males that the roots were breaking the bottom of the soil. They were in 4 gallon pots. SHould i transplant my females into bigger pots/buckets?? cuz they are pry at the same stage in root growth and i dont want to run into this problem further into the flowering process, but i didnt know if this could put to much stress on my ladies

im using foxfarm soil, ill try and get some pics up but cant promise it. DO you think that this would stress out the plants by transplanting them again into even bigger pots though?? would it cause the females to become hermies?

I have transplanted girls while in flower. The way I see it, it's better to upset the plants for a couple days then let them suffocate for the rest of the grow. It shouldn't cause them to go hermie.

To make the transplant easier, I recommend filling the new pot with your soil then putting your plant (in it's pot) into the soil so you build up around where the plant will go. Then remove your plant from the pot placing it straight into this custom fit hole. It's a lot less stress on those side roots, than if you were going to be pushing soil down around them during the replant. I hope this makes some sense.
