About a week and a half ago I planted some NL seeds in a propagation dome with a fluorescent light. The seeds sprouted withing 48 hours and quickly shot up to about 3 - 3.5 inches within a few days. The stems are long and there were only four leaves at the top of each plant. About 48 hours ago I transplanted into my grow room where I have an ebb and flow system with a 400 W HPS light. The bulb is similar to the son agro with the added blue and violet spectrum, so I thought it would be sufficient for veg and flowering stages.
My problem is that in the last 48 hours since the transplant the plants have not seemed to grow at all under the new light. THe light is situated about 20 inches from the top of the plants. The only apparent growth that has taken place in the last 48 hours is a very small set of two more leaved growing at the top of the stem along with the four other leaves on each plant. this change is miniscule compared to the growth they experienced in the days before transplant.
My question is, could the HPS light not be doing the job? Should I get some cfl's to get the job done? Any recomendations? I am a first time grower so any help would be appreciated.
Great site you guys have here. THanks.
