Transplant to Coco

I need to start my 2nd 4x4 tent and spread these kids out.. I am currently in gravel in planters in a 4x4 tent with 13 plants and wanting to scrog. I have them under 600 watts using ebb and flow. The gravel I bought was not the pea gravel I was promised and after a nightmare of trying to wash this crap I have become interested in the coco coir and picked up some 2'x2' x 1/2 " coco coir planter liners. I was wondering if I could lay down a couple of layers of these in my flood table in my second tent and just plop my 4" rockwool cubes and assorted roots down on top of this medium after removing them from the gravel. Yes ? no? maybe? If yes how thick would the coco need to be under the plants in the grotek table? plants are currently about 24" "long" and I have been LST ing them. Advice and thoughts are welcomed.
Peace

Yea, well it will work, but it is best to have plants in containers with coco. one being when roots are exposed to light they turn green and stop growing. So your coco would have to be deep. the second, coco floats, and could clog up your ebb and flow table. Good luck ol boy! Keep em vertical!

Thanks so much for the tips 4lomo. I am covering the entire flood table in the "panda" plastic so that should take care of the light/root issue as well as the light /nutrient interaction. I guess I will wash out/sterilize my planters and put in the mats to contain the coco. I have washed the hell out of the mats to try and lose the dirty stuff. I was amazed at the tint to the water even after 2 good washes. I realize I may be washing out some of the natural nutrients but I will soak them in AN Sensi grow before using. Thanks again.

Not a problem, just trying to help folks grow the best meds. BTW AN sensi grow and bloom is the BOMB! You cannot beat the yeild if you use the AN additives with it. Glad you washed em, some coco contains lots of salts, and must be leached. Coco should be inert, unless you got a precharged version. well, happy growing! keep em vertical!
