Transplant question from serious newb

My babies are 2&3 weeks old. Tall thin and spindley, like so many other newbies out there, finally got a osc fan going to try and fatten them up.
They are sitting in a jiffy tray in peat pellets with a flor light until I can transplant them to a hydro sys (can't wait). How big/how long do I need them to be before I trans into hydro. Will they take the move?

They should take the move, use clean tools...

And they might look limp for like a day...


I'd say be safe and only do one at a time like do one and see how it turns out, if good then do the rest...I'm sure one might die...

Or maybe thats just my luck...

you dont have to transplant to hydro, i started my sprouts right in my hydrosystem. look at my grow guide its called first grow hydro bc sweet tooth. and being a newb is no excuse to have a "Tall thin and spindley" this is my first grow, just keep asking questions, everyone on this site is really helpful

The only reason they would stretch is if your florescent light is too faw away from you plants. you can put florescent right down on top of the plants, within an inch. What type of hydro system are you going to use, what medium for growing, what lights etc. These details can help anyone trying to give you advice. Generally you would want to move (transplant) them when the roots just start to break thru the peet pellets.

I started growing before i aquired the hydro sys. and I know they cant' stay in peat pellets forever. They are getting pretty and green but stems are skinny.

I bought the stealthhydro like Roseman recommended. I dropped the flor light right down on top of them and got an osc fan which really helped.
So I got the nutes and lights and everything, just need to make the move.
There are some roots growing thru and down the peat pellet but it sounds like maybe i need to wait a little bit before the big hydro move.

i put my peat pellets right into the baskets and surrounded them with clay pellets, then it has support until the roots grow long enough
