Just started giving my ladies the darkness b4 12/12. And i was wondering if it would harm the plants if i transplanted during flowering stage? Transplanted into 1 gallon growbags on March 31st and they need another transplant already. This can't be normal! Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.:wall:

depends on how far your into flowering. they should be OK, but youll set them back. you may have to extend your light/dark period a week or two. you should ALWAYS plant your clones/seeds in the pots youll be using from start to finish. i grow in 5 gallon buckets, and never transplant unless i have to.

id just leave them and make sure you check them often

Transplanting doesn't have to be stressful, especially since you're using bags. Be especially gentle with the roots going through the bottom of the bags, if they don't come away easily don't put pressure on the root ball by pulling, instead cut them off clean with a sterile knife, use a lighter on the blade to sterilize the blade before cutting. Cutting WILL cause stress, however, so only do it if you can't get the roots to retreat without damaging the root ball.

If you're very careful not to disturb the existing root ball you can just drop it into a larger bag or pot and backfill with more soil and the girls won't be bothered at all, in fact they'll thank you.

Transplanting during flower is not ideal, but the return (bigger root mass, bigger yield) would be greater then the risk (delayed harvest time).

What if i cut the bag around the bottom and just slide the bag over the top? I keep hearing about ppl slicing the roots on the side to trigger more root growth. Is that true? I just started the dark cycle b4 12/12. Can i do it when they get there first shot of light?

Cutting the bottom of the bag is a good idea, actually!

The bag should be inert and drain well on its own, so it shouldn't hurt the roots if it remains in the new pot.

Yes and no.

You do NOT want to disturb roots when the plant is in flower, the plant puts a lot less energy into growing/repairing roots when it's focused on flowering... which it should.

The reason why ya slice the roots on the sides is because of spinout. Spinout is when the root ball becomes so tight new root growth has a hard time escaping the ball, usually more of a problem with overgrown girls in small plastic pots.

Root scoring should only be done in veg, and not often, transplanting at appropriate times (so scoring isn't necessary) is best; root scoring is highly stressful, it is not beneficial to the plant except as a way to help remedy spinout, which is a worse affliction then scoring if the plant has time to recover in veg.

You are not in veg, so do not slice/score the roots if you don't have to. Keep the disturbance to an absolute minimum and the girls won't mind.
