Transferring plants from 400w hps to 175w led

I have 4 plants and only want to flower 2 at a time. I have 2 75w equivalent leds I bought from Walmart and was wondering if I'll kill my plants if I put them under these leds before transferring them back to the 400 watt hose light

If I understand you correctly you want to start 4 photoperiod plants at the same time in veg, and veg 2 of them for the additional 8-12 weeks it takes to flower the first 2?

Yes but 5 weeks apart instead of the whole flowering period. I think I mean I wanna to a staggard harvest. I am wanting to harvest a month apart.

These plants are hooked up to an automatic watering system and and an npk monitor. I want to veg them all out out till 2 can fill that whole scrog net. Main question is will the plants die if they go from 400w hps lighting to 150 watt led lighting 20200425_121013.jpg

OK ... now I'm confused. I thought you were vegging under the 175w (18/6) LEDs and flowering under the 400w HPS (12/12). Why would you move plants back under the LEDs once they were flowering for weeks? If the strain's flower period needs more time just keep vegging the 2nd pair of plants until you harvest the 1st pair.
It looks like you have all 4 going ... for what you want to do, you shouldn't be starting the second pair until the 1st pair is in flower.

Nope, completely wrong lol. I'm vegging currently under a 400 watt hps light. I want to continue vegging 2 out of 4 plants under a different 175/150w led light and switch the other 2 plants into flower under the hps light.

The basic question I'm asking is what happens when your plant is in a vegetative grow state and has been so under a 400 w hps light, will it die if the light source is reduced to a 175 watt led light in a seperate room.

It won't die but it won't be very happy with you. Expect to see the plants under the LED stretch and get a bit leggy. Maybe add a couple of 100w 5000K CFL bulbs.

Thank you! I'm gonna try and save up for a new 1000 watt hps light kit from grow ace because they are like 189 bucks but for now this is what I have. I'll see what I can do to add more lighting in there.

Before you do that, I'd like to educate you on lighting ... but I won't push it if you're not interested.

Here's a link to another RIU thread that will be informative. https://www.rollitup.org/t/led-hps-comparison.1010729/post-15487011
Picking the correct light type needs to take into account your environment, budget, goals, etc.. You've created a basic DIY learn by doing environment. As you can afford it you should buy 2 tents ... a 4x4 at least 72" tall for flower and a 3x3 or 2x4 for veg. No need to spend a lot on them ... you can get better ones later if you keep growing.
There are a couple of reasons for this ... 1) the enclosure will help maintain a better environment for the plants 2) the reflective sides will improve light penetration 3) you'll be able to filter air going into the tents to minimize spores and pests.
If you go with the 1000W HPS you mentioned, it will give you a terrific light source to maximize the yield of the 4x4. The main issue with HPS is the heat they generate. You'll need to be mindful of the temperature in the tent or your plants will suffer. If you're going HPS, see if you can swing an air cooled hood/reflector for it. You'll be happier in the long run.
Good LEDs are more expensive to buy, but you will be saving around 400+/- watts per hour. If you figure that you'll be flowering each crop for an average of 9 weeks, that's a savings of .4(Kw/hr) * 12hrs * 7days * 9wks = 302.4Kwhrs per grow. Trust me ... electricity cost are your biggest ongoing expense. They also don't have the heat problems associated with HPS, HID, and even CMH.
These numbers are based on an LED drawing a true 600+watts at the wall.
