Training advice, starting at 20 days, no idea what to do

So I have a fat monkey auto. It's at 20 days now, has been topped and has recovered well. I have seen a lot of mention on LST, but I'm not quite sure what to do. From what I can gather, I want to make the canopy even by tying branches down so they grow out and then up so they rget distributed light, but I have no idea what to do with the main stem....I've seen them twisted into all strange shapes.

Should I just worry about tying down or cropping the top branches to grow out and letting the lower branches catch up, or should I be training the bottom branches out....I have no idea.

Probably a question that you are sick of hearing, but I just want to make sure I understand what I'm actually doing. whether the idea is to make a level canopy, which seems easy enough, or whether I should be focusing on the stressing to up yield...

Some people start tying down the main stem very early. Since this is your fist, start with new branches. Remember that when you tie down a branch, it'll keep growing and you'll have to re-tie it once it gets longer. have fun.
Cheers. I had a feeling I was a bit late for manipulating the main stem...it's already 8 or so inches tall. I'll stick to training the four heads from the topping, and let the lower branches catch up for a bit. I figured as long as each cola is getting adequate space, the training has got to be beneficial...

The tent is only 160cm tall, and these autos are apparently big. 90-110cm according to SAG. Considering 30cm is taken up by pot, and more for lights, I have to get cracking on this training.

Aren't you the guy that posted a pic of a 1/4 pound auto under a 100w light yesterday, and accused me of spreading misinformation?
Seems to me that with your great growing skills, you'd know how to lst. Lol.
Happy growing.

I started training my plant super late, like 6 weeks into veg and it still worked out. Plant is massive lol. Just make sure you go slow and only bend the very top of the main stem so that you are only bending the most flexible part of it. Although IDK if the matter of it being "too late" is different for autoflowers cause mine is a hybrid.

No matter how bitter you want to get, 100w can still grow a plant. Chill.

Just bend it over until the tip is level with most of the other branches and then support the bend with a wire wrapped around the base holding it from the other direction.

Google image "LST cannabis" and get to work

Ended up tieing it down to level the canopy. I just wasn't sure if the desired outcome was the stress from training (I've heard to bend or crop branches to increase yield) or whether it was just controlling stretch and canopy.

Didn't overthink it. This is it after a bit of fiddling. It's all level now, but looks retarded. Took about 5" off the height. It's at 22 days now, so I'd say it will have a week to recover until it pre flowers.

The desired outcome is to get more bud. Basically instead of focusing its energy on one main stem, because the whole plant is level it will focus on creating many different branches with more bud sites. I am not knowledgeable about the technical terms but this much I know from personal experience.
