Totally Rethinking Everything...Need help

I have been planning my first grow for when I move into my apartment for almost half a year now. I thought I had thought everything out, but I have been recently reading on Dr.Bug sog method using only only cfl in a very small small to acquire yields that people using HIDs might not even be able to get in the space that he does it.

I am now in the process of re working everything, but I still only have 15-17 weeks to grow a full harvest, and dry it in time. Because of money concerns I think using this method I can have the same yields I was expecting but cutting down on my cost by a least $300 dollars. I am currently in the process of calculating my new cost and comparing. My main concern is how much time do you think it would take to veg a mother to take 6 clones from them under 300-400W cfl, 400W MH, or 600W MH if my pocket allows?

^ignore that. You could probably get 6 healthy clones in about 1 1/2, 2 months of vegging. Its all depends

How will they grow a healthy root system capable of flower-power without veg?
If you read the Dr. bud grow he does not veg in his see of green, and he is able to get 7-14 g per plant. Other people have tried his method and are getting he same results. I have seen these results with only 300 W cfl, 16 plants per sq ft. I can provide you with 3 other grow journals which are accomplishing these results if you want. My cab is 6ft, which means i would have 90-96 plants, 7 grams per plant 22 oz. Or I was thinking 8 mini dwc using 2 gal buckets, 5 clones per bucket. If i can accomplish 2 oz per bucket I can get 16oz of herb. Even through I have seen get 2.5-3oz out of a system such as this.

Ok... assuming he can hit it out of the park on his first try at the plate.... Anything's possible?

17 weeks is definitely pushing it.

I don't expect to get those kinds of numbers on my first run, I am shooting for 8ounces of dry herb. The numbers before show what can be done with the system once I have a few more runs. I was just asking how long do you need to veg a plant to take 4-6 clones from. Assuming I used a 400W MH bulb. I really wish I had a few more weeks, but its the best I can do. Tell me if these numbers work 25 days to acquire a mother for 4-5 clones from seed under a 600W MH, this is the step that determines if I can make the deadline. I am banking on the 90000 lumens over only 6 ft to give rapid growth to my plants. 2 weeks for clones to root. 8-10 weeks of flowering, the strains which I am usng are all going to be feminized, and flower in this time period. I just need to know if these numbers work, if not I can just go back to my original plan of lst.

If you plant on killing off the mother for her clones, it's conceivable.

But that assumes you get a female, and without a clone already... the time to sex them to figure it out.... I don't see it happening without a great deal of luck.

Yeah I was planning on killing off the mothers, and only using femmed seeds, even through I am currently rethinking the whole plant. Might be safer to just lst since its my first grow.

I think you might have enough time do what you plan... but, no matter how much you read and research, there are always problems on your first grow. So I think you should keep everything as simple as possible to ensure success.

If you plan on just using 1 mother to take clones off of, the CFLs will be fine. You won't notice much of a difference in veg until the plants get a lot bigger or larger quantity of them.
