Total Noob seeking Trichomes assessment

Hey Guys,

This is my 2nd posting regarding a Trichome assessment, on my 8th week and some of you suggested that I should start flushing (due to the rising humidity in my area) and yes, I am using UVB lights. I'm seeking more of a Narcotic/energetic high than a Couch lock feel, so I'm not going to chase after those amber Trichomes, just wanna get an idea of when to begin Harvesting.

Oh and just incase it's relevant: The following are in a DWC bubbler: Amnesia,Haze,Diesel, and OG Kush
As for the rest they are in pots.

Any feedback and suggestions (even criticisms of my photo focus skills) are more than welcome.

Thanks people, couldn't have gotten this far without this forum!

not sure of the name dude, but if you type up mobile microscope on amazon, you'll find it. I posted a pic of the box for ya.
So do you think I should keep flushing? or should I return to the nute for another 2 weeks or so?
I don't grow soil sorry , can't comment on flushing soil but I left my plants in dwc in just RO water and cal/mg for well over a week

That's really re-assuring bro, so calmag is ok to use during flushing? won't impact the taste later on at all? do i still need to balance my Ph?

Flushing is a personal choice I would skip it myself. Not one amber in all the pics so I'm guessing you have at least a week on most of them to go. Add a zoomed back out of each plant and we can judge better.

Just do a better job of curing if you don't flush.

I will definitely do that in a few days, thanks nomo!

I would harvest at first sight of amber if you want more energy less lock. Also turn off all lights (especially UVB) for 1 day before harvesting for max potency. (THC is at peak at the end of a dark period, aka in the morning. UVB triggers resin production, but also degrades THC so giving it a break to regenerate will max you out)

I once had a bud tested and it was at 25% THC, I then left bud sittin out on my coffee table for a month totally exposed to light and air. I then tested it again and it tested at at 22%

my point,,,, 1 night in the dark will make no difference at all :)

Not once it's cut, but while it's alive the plant is constantly recycling THC and CBD in a loop. The UVB degrades the THC into CBD (or other similar cannibinoids) the plant then recycles the CBD to make more THC to protect itself. All day the UVB does it's job of degrading the THC and stimulating the plant to produce more. The break allows the plant to restore all the degraded THC without any new degrading taking place. Lab tests have shown THC can be 3-4% higher in the AM than the PM, a full 24 hrs of darkness should at least match just harvesting in the AM, we would have to run lab tests to verify or disprove.

I'm also going to be drying/curing in near total darkness going forward. (RH controller running fan + filters)

I would love to see test results from a bunch of samples:
Harvested after 24hr+ of darkness
Harvested at end of last dark period (harvest when lights would turn on, but only turn on enough lights to see.)
Harvested in evening.

Dried/Cured at indoor lighting levels.
Dried/Cured in darkness

Left exposed to 1 week of sunlight, indoor levels, darkness.

I'm curious to see how much light degrades the THC once it's dry vs when it's part of a living plant.

Like yourself, I learned a lot from others here. Including that a flush can be effective in only 2 or 3 waterings. So, it's not about time on a calendar.

Than you have strain diffs. Sativa will go much, much longer than indica, and show clear to cloudy! I prefer sat to indi, and my girl has been flowering 7 months and still shows only a hint of amber. I give her full strength dyna bloom every 3rd watering, with a coconut water pre-chaser. The buds are noticeably larger the following morning. Don't flush and harvest too soon.

Will you smoke or vape? Vaping is more forgiving of chemical taste. Fresh vape tastes great. Fresh smoke is nearly always harsh.
