Torrents

So about a year and a half ago a friend of mine turned me on to torrents. Before that I was using mIRC and before that it was Kazaa or however it was spelled. This torrent thing is AWSOME. You can download almost ANYTHING and if you have a good connection you can get them pretty damn fast. Just wondering if anyone else is into the torrent thing. I have heard of alot of torrent programs but I use Bittorrent.

And when I say you can get anything .... Remember when napster came out and you could get a song at a time, Then if you used mIRC you know that you could get an album at a time .... well with torrents you can get a DISCOGRAPHY at a time. Not to mention you can get videos, pdf files, games, pretty much anything that can be downloaded.

So anyone downloading torrents??

I have uTorrent and I use it to get movies (from isohunt) that are just out in theaters.

i've been d/l torrents once kaazaa went offline. i use azureus; hands down the best client for downloading torrents. i use ishount and piratebay the most frequently for searching.

yea isohunt is my prime search site. I have got so many cds that I have to struggle to think of what to get next. kind of went from getting what I wanted to seeing how much I could get.

haha yeah, I use Limewire's BitTorrent application to download movies. The good ones are usually done in a couple of ours too.

I'm starting to look into this satellite TV for my computer though. Apparently you can get 3000+ channels of satellite quality TV channels from around the world on your computer for just one payment of $99.95! I haven't figrued out what the catch is yet though.

i use bittorrent. i love downloading movies and stuff...i have TONS of movies on my computer from torrents...lol.

have you tried updating your trackers list when it gets stuck at 99.9%?

Its a link site that contains most the torrent sites in its database inculding Mininova, Piratebay, TorrentReactor ETC.. So if one if one site doesn't have what your looking for it will show you the others .

Whats the likelihood of getting a virus ftrom these torrent things? Cause my pa doesnt let me use kazaa or anything for virus risks so is this any safer?

just like downloading from any other thing, there is always a risk of getting something but I cant recall getting anything yet and its been about a year and a half..... alot more then I can say for when I was using kazaa. Just make sure your anit-virus is updated.

and getting stuck at 99.9% does SUCK! I hate that. If I am downloading cds I just delete the song that didnt finish and then find it by itself and add it to my folder that way its like you have it all the way finished.

Be careful.I got a nasty letter from my isp when I tried to download diablo 2.

Yeah man I use vuze which was formerly azureus. And I used thepiratebay.com as my search. Can get great amounts of music. All I ever download now is full artist discographies. That plus movies and games, thats why i have a small 30gb out of 300gb left on my external.

I had to get a second external. I think im somewhere around 3000 cds right now, maybe more when I get home and see what my girl and kids have been getting

someone help me out because I don't want to read all of this -

I want to get into torrents, I've wanted to for a while because I want to watch how high. are torrents safe or should I worry about viruses

also what program should I use to download the torrents and what websites? thanks
