I thought the same thing, I'm trying to tie them up so there's no foliage left underneath, just a drip loop. I think the key to growing weed in these planters is gonna be training the plants to grow up and around the planter, so there shouldn't really be buds on the bottom where it drains.

I love projects! I was actually thinking about those tomato and herb topsy turvies for an indoor vertical grow, but I didn't get past the drainage issue...I suppose as long as I had an 18 gallon tote under each one.....Seems like a cheap way to do a vert soil grow...I have a few more clones that are going into it too.
