Topping?

I saw a video somewhere, where this dude cut the main bud three quarters of the way down when it's still in the veg stage with a set of nail clippers, he reckons you could have up to eight main colas that form from that cut.

Does this method work?

If so can you do it with any strain?

it works but you will not get 8 colas from one cut

to get 8 colas you'd have to cut the main stem, two main stems will come out of that cut

then cut those two, now you will have four

cut those four now you will have two

i recommend only cutting twice to minimize the time you stay in veg, cutting or pruning less than a month prior to veg is known to reduce yeilds during harvest

nail clipper would work perfect, they are very sharp and the inward roundedness of them would allow you to use the semi-pointed edge to clip more accurately.

HOWEVER

DO NOT use clippers that you use to cut your funky toes with, lol, jk, but really use a clean pair of them and keep them specifically for Mary

it's called fiming. it's not 100 % successful but if it is you will get multi stems instead of the usual two.

and most of the time you get two unless you cut it wierd and end up with three of four, i can see how that is possible

ive heard fim sucks..just top, then top again if you watn more colas
