Gotta love this time of the year. Fresh veggie scraps from the garden. Added some beets leaves, swiss chard leaves, zucchini, cucumber and some pea shells. Of course they go well with the banana peels and coffee grounds!!

Takes about a week for us to fill up 3 plastic coffee cans. By that time the worms in my 3 bins have already turned the last meal into real black gold!!

Sometimes I freeze my stuff before feeding the worms. They eat it faster when it’s been frozen.

Do some reading and find out which worm bin best suits you.

Fresh ewc are by far the best amendment you can give your plants. I topdress at 2 and 4 weeks of flower with about 3/4” fresh ewc. Sometimes I will add chopped fresh comfrey as well.

Good luck and happy growing!!

Thank you for the info I will definitely freeze first I assume you thaw before feeding?

Personally I make a slurry of disgusting old veg and fruit scraps with a food processor and pour it into ice cube trays and freeze. When I need to feed I bury a few, top dress with whatever goodies I feel like at the moment, switch it up each time (kelp, guano, bokashi, old fan leaves, oyster shells, crab meal, green sand, egg shells, diatomaceous earth, paper...) and rebury. I don’t wait for them to thaw.

Its watermelon season!!! My kids are on a melon every other day habit so the worms get rinds like a mfer. Melon rind in my worm bin produces a sweet smelling leacheate from the lower spigot that all my plants love. I almost want to take a sip....

Hey Richard, thot I had some watermelons growing but turned out to be pumpkins. Gonna have to try a watermelon one of these days!!

Just added some purslane to my worm bins. Since I have a ton of it growing in my garden, thot I would once again add some to my worm bins. Great addition for a whole range of minerals that the girls love.

Gonna have to pay a visit to my comfrey patch one of these days!!

I've heard worms love pumpkin and people go around collecting them after Halloween
