Topping +REP for good answer

ok, so my plant has 6 leaves on it and I am wondering where to top it at. I have looked all over and cant find a good guide or a good picture and I dont want to go cutting at my plant without bieng 100% sure.

I am thinking that I top it just beneath where two leaves are just growing in where they meet at 1 stem I cut them off right at that stem where the two leaves meet.. or do I just cut off the two leaves so the plant is like a Y .. I am thinking just belove the v in the Y. pretend the leaves are at the tip of the Y i cut it just belove where it is 1 stem..

They say to top right after the 5-6 node. Cut your plant just above the node and the two side branches will turn into to main colas. like a Y.

yeah but do I cut where the leaves meet and make 1 stem and cut the 1 stem or what.. still confused

it says at the 2nd true node, but what is considered a "true" node i am just really confused

the verrrrry top of your plant.... where you see the new growth comming from. pinch or cut that fucker off, and you'll be well on your way. you should start seeing the split in 2-3 days. by split i mean 1 top becoming 2...

on that link though steph, the stem that he cut didnt become a stem that split off into two, the two leaves beside the stem just grew up is that what is suppose to happen, or is the stem you cut suppose to grow up into a Y

ok you want to cut at the tippy top of the plant where it makes a Y, where new baby leaves are coming in, inbetween the two leaves. you just cut the growth tip off that is in between the Y, so that the plant's tip actually looks like a Y. you should see new grow tips coming in, in about 3 days.

just rip the newest growing set of leaves (or however many nodes down you want) my man. have at it its the best thing in the entire world.

hi m8 im on my first grow and have just topped.
its really simple but daunting till done. When you see the results you will be chuffed. If you look at the second pic (which has nothing to do with topping.) Where the word stipules is, look slightly up to where the stem (picture) ends. Thats the point you want to cut. It will look like that pic but left and right stem will have your leaves on. Which I think you mean by a Y shape

i have only topped one plant.... very first time. not that hard.

You definitely got all the help you needed there. I just wanna stand by UB topping technique. I topped both of my plants according to him and one has 7 colas growing, 4 main ones 3 secondary and the other had turned into 4 seperate plants damn near before I decided to open it up and let the insides get some light. Now it's working on well over 14 budsites!!
Just follow UB to a t and you'll be happy....as can be. Couldn't resist putting that last bit in! lol


Just for added emphasis, This is a pic of my 2 plants. The one closest to the camera has the 4 main but 7 total colas, the one in the back is the one with 14+ budsites. This pic is 4 days old so today you could see the budsites a lot better but I didn't take any pics, only video.
