Topping question

I posted this question in my original growing thread here...

I have two plants that I plan to let veg for 6-8 more weeks pictured below.

This is only my second grow so I am still a newbie at plenty of good tactics so I am wondering about topping. I am considering topping what I think to be my indica plant (right) but may do both if I still can.

Also how does topping effect yield? I have seen many posts about topping just never got a word on how it produces opposed to just leaving it. I know its for tight height spaces & where I am growing is about a 3 foot by 4 foot space with about 6 foot tall of space height wise.

Topping is more about creating flowering positions and filling out a canopy than it is controlling height issues. Yield will increase.

Probably just top the one on the left and let your shorter girl grow another week to catch up.

Topping will even out your canopy allowing more top colas to form/fill and is also usefull for people dealing with height issues.

Look into the FIM (Fuck I Missed) method as well as the LST (Low Stress Training) method. Alot can be done to deal with height, create more bud sites and increase your overall yield.

Youtube search a few vids and it's pretty straight forward.

I liked what you were talking about until you said yield will increase. Explain exactly with detail how you can get more yield by topping a cannabis plant.

depending on the time you top, you definitely can increase yields.
it is best to top as early as possible, if so, the lower nodes will not only shoot up, but they will grow to be strong solid branches which will hold more weight.
as stated earlier, topping technique is mostly used to create an even canopy, which within itself will increase yields. however, there are other factors to assist in increasing yields such as pruning, supercropping and lsting, so don't just rely on topping for to increase your yield.
