Topping off you reservoir

being that i did this last night i was wonder if you top your reservoir off with the remaining water from my last water change without hurting my girls. Understand tho not getting the water from the bottom where the sediments settle. i change my water once a week so the nutes that are there should be minimum. what does RIU think about this??

What size is your rez and how much do you add? Like a gallon into twenty? Since you change every week I can't think this would hurt. It would change the water chemistry minimally. If I changes my res every week, I would never have to add back.

1 5 gallon res for two plant. and they love em some water now

But still, how much do you add back per week to top up? A gallon each? 1/2 a bucket? I've never grown in that small a res. I still don't think it'll hurt to use your previous change out to top up.

dude, toss that old shit, nutes are cheap in the end run. along the way the unused elements will build up causing a problem. measure your water before and after mixing and see ppm difference, it doesnt matter if you get it from the top, the water is saturated with nutes.
