Topping? Is it big enough? And how?

This is my first grow and im super unsure about when to top them for the first time.. ive read alot about topping plants to make them bushier but i havent found anything on which branches to start on. My plant is 2 weeks old, i have them on a 20 hr on and 4 hr off light cycle(which idk if thats right on not), and im using a fan and a heater on them 24/7. Are they big enough to start topping? What branches shoud i cut? Should I increase the light? and when should I start fertilizing them?

Topping wont increase your yeild in most cases but will increase your number of main colas. Cant tell you how to top though, Ive never attempted. But I would get rid of the reflective material on the ground, it can cause burns. Good luck!

no, wait until 5 nodes. I have topped using Uncle Ben's technique to get four main colas, and it wokred great. It did increase the yield.

here is a pic of the finished plant.

Hope this helps!

This. Although I believe if you only want 2 colas you split at the 2nd or 3rd node. If you haven't yet, read Uncle Ben's topping method. It's a fantastic resource.

i beleive above 2nd will get you four, but wait until 5 nodes is what i read, so the plant is healthy. Worked great for me.

Wait till it grow 4-5 nodes tall that snip the main stem right above the second node. Search for uncle Ben's topping technique, You can even top every branch if you like. I believe it does increase yeild quite well, since the best growth is on the main cola, 2 or 4 colas is better than one. Don't worry about the reflective material on the floor, its bound to get dirty or blocked by the canopy so its not really needed, just on the walls. Heater shouldn't be needed unless its getter below 65 degrees. Light schedule is fine for veg. most use 18/6. And 12/12 for flower.

is my plant big enough yet to use any fetilziers? I got my hands on some rapid grow formula that u mix in water and a slow release kind. Are they too young to start fertilizing? Cause i dont wanna burn 'em.

u can feed that girl but i'd feed it barely anything like probably a teaspoon or half a teaspoon with a gallon of water or 1/4 strength..depending on your soil of course..if your soil has nutes in it already wait one more week then start feeding

What??? More colas would equal more yeild I would think.

just pick a brand of nutes and follow the brands feeding chart, but only use 1/4 dose for veg like 420forme said

3-1-2 ration npk for veg...or 1-1-1 and lightly...top above the second true node....then lst the top 2 down and the auxins will go into the lowers more evenly....is what I so and it works great and quite noticeably increases yields in some instances as greatly as 50%...IMHHO
