Topping for mainlining... Where is my 3rd node???

Hi, This is my first time attempting mainlining... I have read that I have to top down to 3rd node but I'm confused as to why plants nodes are not at the same level (in a right angle) here is a picture of 1. Can someone tell me why? And where I should actually top as I can't even work out first my 3rd node is on this :s

Thanks guys

Those strains that grow Asymetrical and staggered branches i tend to crop and even lollipop them just build the best tops .

Were those clones? That's the reason for the staggered branches. You can still top it if you like but you will not be able to achieve the even top growth that mainlining promotes.

Yes they were clones. What if I super crop the dominant side to try and achieve an even manifold? Do u think that will work?

I see what you're suggesting but no, it'd be whacked. You're growth tips are too staggered to get close to building an even manifold. Budzbudha made the best suggestion, best to focus on the growth tips tgat will receive the most light during flower.
