TOPPING/FIM clones alternating nodes where/when?

Hey guys im looking for some help here. Ive never grown from clones before I usually start from seed. I was recommended to a shop in denver and grabbed 2 clones. When I went to top them I realized there was only one branch coming out of each node. I did a bunch of searching on the web......finally put in the right keywords...alternating nodes (duh).

My question is where and when to top/fim. From what ive found online it sounds like topping would be my preferred choice but Im worried about knocking off good growth Ive had these plants for 4 days now I transplanted them to 1 gallon 3 days ago in to coco. I just watered and used some white shark.....they probably could have handled a regular feeding but i didnt have it on hand

This is the North Shore Maui. In the second picture you can see a couple spots where they were already cut.

Next is the Tangie. Its a bush at the bottom with one branch coming straight up. I can tell its been top right above the 4th node i want to keep my canopy even but theres alot of space between the 4th node and where the new growth is at.

Anything pointers would be very helpful.
