Topping during scrog? Do or don't?

Hi all... I've been reading and reading and reading and reading (and probably haven't read enough) and I'm seeing conflicting info on this. I've read some people top before they scrog and others say not to. Any insight on this? It would seem to me that you wouldn't top because the whole point is to train the plant around the screen in a fashion to allow the offshoots of the main branch to have their own bud sites exposed in the screen open areas. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?
