So I've heard alot of questions centered around topping during preflower and I have found No Answers soooo ? I decided to try it. As soon as pistils started showing I topped 5 colas. And this is what I have so far.... All of them that were topped doubled having 2 main colas at the top while the rest of the untopped have only one. There's one that has 3 colas where I left a little bit remaining when I topped it. Also the ones that were topped all are fatter and have more bud sites than the ones that were not topped. So here's the answer to topping while beginning of flowering. Yes you can do it without bad consequences as long as you do it as soon as your plant shows pistils. Well at least I would suggest it I know I will do it to all my females not auto. THIS IS NOT AN AUTO FLOWER. This is one plant grown in 4 inch rockwool cube then placed in top feed DWC 5 Gallon bucket with two air stones

For sure it looks to have worked for you, but why not do this during veg when the plant is in its best position to be able to heal itself any cuts that you've made from topping it? I'm no pro, but Its my understanding that the first couple of weeks of flower are quite important and what sets a plant up for a good flowering phase. I want my ladies to be concentrating on getting ready for flower production and not healing itself from unnecessary damage that im causing. I may be wrong and am always happy to listen to anyone who can shed more light on this though.

When pistils start forming the plant is now focusing mainly on forming flowers. The main growth spurt is done and any energy you take away from that process will reduce yields.
It would be much more productive to top in veg and continue LST of the plant through flower stretch.

Not for me.
It's akin to damaging a newly developing fetus in my eyes and if human form I would not like to be responsible for the end result.
Especially in the plant world where there is a very high risk of hermes and/or other major issues.
It's the growers choice but not for me.
